Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has taken to social media to debunk yet another rumour about his upcoming sequel. The latest rumour came from Schmoes Know , who stated that the Elders of the Universe would play a large role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.  The report stated that the Elders would be comprised of The Collector (Benicio del Toro, who has previously stated he's NOT in the sequel), Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki), and the unnamed characters played by Sylvester Stallone and Sharon Stone.

Gunn (who previously stated he'd no longer be commenting on rumours) took to his Twitter account after hearing the "scoop": "Where do you guys get this nonsense? Who are all the people running around giving fake inside scoops to journalists?"

Gunn is well-known for not misleading fans when it comes to information that is outright false, so it looks like we can count this one as debunked. It's also worthwhile to note that the same source provided "leaked information" about Thor: Ragnarok this week, so it may be wise to take those details with a pinch of salt as well.

I don't believe Gunn for a second. Del Toro was already spotted on set.

@Darkknight2149 - Nope, those set photos were him filming for the Guardians themed park ride.

@MattBellissimo -
Oh, okay. The headline said GUARDIANS VOL. 2. Must've been an assumption.
