There's A GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Deleted Scene Featuring Nathan Fillion

Was Nathan Fillion's [SPOILER] originally meant to actually appear in the film and not just on a background poster? That just might have been the plan if Fillion's Instagram post is any indication.

Set photos from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 previously revealed that Nathan Fillion is actually playing Simon Williams aka Wonder Man in the film. Specifically, posters and movie theater marquee signs confirmed that Fillion is playing the actor-version (as oppossed to the engineer or industrialist versions) of the powerful Avenger.

However, it looks as if Williams doesn't have any of the special abilities that his comic book counterpart received from Baron Zemo and Enchantress- unless Marvel's playing the long game and laying seeds for an incredible payoff down the line.

In an Instagram post, Fillion revealed a behind-the-scenes snap of what was going to be an actual on-screen appearance in Vol. 2 but was ultimately cut from the final edit.  Was Fillion also going to play a Ravager? Or were were we going to have a meta-scene in the film with Fillion's Simon Williams playing a human space explorer in one of his movies?

From a scene you won't see in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Is the movie still spectacular without it? Yes.

Looking at him in front of a Rogue One splash screen makes me think he would make a good middle-aged Han Solo. That guy really seems like a good and funny man IRL. I've read a lot of fans talking about meeting him at conventions or on the street and talking to him about Firefly, Destiny or even Doctor Horrible, and every time they said he was incredibly kind.

@Asturgis - I didn't get to talk to him, but I saw him chatting with fans at a con I went to a year and a half ago, and he seemed pretty cool.

I wish Fillion would be the guy that appears in all CBMs similar to Stan Lee. But instead of just Marve films, he pops up in DC ones as well.

Wait, do the Guardians go to Earth? Hopefully just a dream or something. That would be awful.

@Origame - Well, we know they're going to meet the Avengers in Infinity War so probably

@Luigi - I'm talking about in this movie. I mean, if we're talking about one of the end credit scenes, but not in one of the Guardians movies. That would be a waste.

Is that not Aloy's gear from Horizon Zero Dawn that he's wearing?

[frick] let him play Wonder Man

I'm still up for him playing Scorpion.
Sequel to Spidey Homecoming have Mysterio and Scorpion as the villains. Boom.

@BritishMonkey - And of course Bruce Campbell needs to be Mysterio.

Probably he was going to be Wonder Man in a 70s flashback scene, and Marvel decided to have this character in a future project.

Assuming the scene with the poster ties into the scene with the cars and giant blob that we've seen snippets of.

I'm betting that they filmed a scene from "Arkon" that the characters would be in a theater watching.
