Although Gamora was not resurrected when The Hulk used the Infinity Stones to reverse "The Decimation" wrought by The Mad Titan in
Avengers: Endgame, a version of the character from an earlier timeline is alive and well somewhere on Earth - even though it's a very different, far more ruthless Daughter of Thanos.
We still don't have official confirmation that Gamora will return for James Gunn's
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but actress Zoe Saldana seems fairly confident that she will reprise the role, and is looking forward to exploring a slightly darker take on "The Deadliest Woman in the Galaxy."
Here's what Saldana had to say when asked where she'd like to see Gamora go next during a panel at ACE Comic-Con in Seattle this past weekend.
"The technical answer is, it all depends on what Marvel and James Gunn desire to do with the Guardians and with Gamora's fate. There's a part of me that wants her to go back, find her way back to the Guardians, but there's also a part of me that wants to explore a bad Gamora. I've never seen that and she's, you know, she's considered the most lethal assassin, the most lethal woman in the galaxy, so I would want to see what that wrath looks like also because it would just give me layers to sort of work on. But yeah, I want her to get back to the Guardians."
Gunn previously stated that
GOTG Vol. 3 would be heavily Gamora-focused, so there's a pretty good chance the plot will at least partially revolve around Star-Lord and his fellow A-holes tracking down their former teammate (well, from their perspectives) and attempting to convince her to join the Guardians.
What do you guys hope to see from Gamora in
GOTG Vol. 3? Drop us a comment in the usual place.
