GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 Is Eyeing An Eventual Global Box Office Haul Of $900+ Million

The latest box office figures for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are in, and with just days to go before the threequel passes $700 million, we have some predicted figures for its final worldwide total.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 just had another awesome weekend, despite being knocked from the top spot by the newly released Fast X

With a drop of only -48.4%, James Gunn's threequel earned $32 million to take its current domestic total to $266.5 million. Based on these figures, the expectation now is that its U.S. run will conclude with a $335 million - $360 million haul.

This is a pretty incredible result, particularly as the weeks ahead are going to be incredibly busy for theaters. With The Little Mermaid, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and The Flash all on the horizon, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will soon have fewer screens to play on, making these predicted figures all the more impressive.

As things stand, it may well prove to be the biggest hit of the summer.

With a strong $48.8 million third weekend overseas (a -47.2% drop), the movie has earned $392.6 million internationally for a worldwide total of $659.1 million. At this rate, Vol. 3 will blast past $700 million this coming weekend for an eventual global haul of $830 million - $930 million.

Had it not been for all that pesky competition, the latest Guardians of the Galaxy movie may well have topped $1 billion. As things stands, though, it will be Marvel Studios' biggest hit since last May's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ($955.8 million).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now playing in theaters.

This is what happens when you make a movie worthy of your hard earned money. Bravo. Best thing since Endgame.

@WEAPONXOXOXO - And it's all about strong word of mouth. I believe people are at a point that they will no longer support low quality products.

@WEAPONXOXOXO - except Endgame was really a poop movie with some nostalgia and bits of a cool final battle.

this movie is animal torture porn with lame humour. but probably slighly better than GOTG2

@iceballsreborn - An incredibly small percentage of people would agree with any of this nonsense.

@Lokiwasright - Was it you that tried saying this film wouldn't succeed in the box office? You certainly have a reputation for being wrong.

@TheyDont - Yup,Doctor Strange And Spider-Man. They've f*cked the Hulk and Thor,Black Panther is dead as well. Guardians Of The Galaxy is pretty much over, well this team.

Not interested really in this new batch of heroes and who knows what they'll do with The Fantastic Four and The X-Men.

Over $930 million is a bit of a tall order.

Maybe $800 million.

Luiz Fernando is not a credible box office analyst. He does this as a hobby and is essentially guessing. I personally am not confident that it will reach $800 million.

Lol… I think you have the hobby thing backwards. This guy analyzes box office for a living.

If you click on his feed he describes himself as

"A cool, geek guy, who loves Box Office reports, streaming wars, geek culture, movies, acting, tv, investing and numbers hahaha"

I can say the same thing. What makes you think he does this for a living? What publication does he wrote for?

Lol... he's a box office analyst. You are a random member of comicbookmovie.com. You are not the same, Forthas.

Clearly you don't follow the guy or read his tweets much if you think he's some random guy, haha.
