Baby Groot, Mantis, And More Featured In New GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Photos
A new batch of images have been released from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 today, and they offer up a fresh look at key scenes and characters from the highly anticipated Marvel Studios release...
James Gunn has taken to Facebook to share some brand new photos from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and as you can see, we get a new look at both Mantis (alongside Drax) and the adorable Baby Groot happily sitting on Yondu's shoulder in what looks set to be possibly one of the movie's best sequences!
USA Today originally debuted the images (at a lowly 540x405 resolution...in 2017), and they confirm that the movie picks up two months after 2014's first instalment. Events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has previously moved pretty much in real time, so this marks a departure for the studio.
"The first movie was successful because we took chances and gave people the unexpected," says writer/director James Gunn. "This movie can only really be what it is, Guardians can only be what they are, if they’re taking a risk. It means giving them a much different movie." Not much else is revealed, but Ego the Living Planet - Kurt Russell - had this to say about Star-Lord's father. "Ego is the most powerful character I’m ever going to play. I mean, he created himself! He’s the real deal."
