Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, director/writer James Gunn stated that he envisions his Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy simply as the continuation of a single story. "I think really that the three movies work together as a whole, they’re going to tell one story. This is the story of this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and we’re going to get to know the characters even better in the same way we got to know them much better in this film than the first one. I wouldn’t have said yes if I didn’t have a fairly clear idea of where we were going and what we were going to do. I’m not a guy that’s just going to do it if I don’t have a vision for it. So, I’m very excited."
With Mantis, Nebula and Yondu joining the team in Vol.2 (and Adam Warlock now confirmed by Gunn to appear in Vol. 3), who would you like to see added to the roster in the team's next outing? On a related note, Variety caught up with Gunn at last night's North American premiere in Los Angeles where he made statements which imply there's going to be more Guardians of the Galaxy films after his trilogy but it won't feature the current core line-up.
