Collider Videos recently caught up with Dave Bautista to discuss his movie My Spy, and during that interview, the Guardians of the Galaxy star confirmed that director James Gunn has an idea for a spinoff revolving around Drax and Mantis.

"What I would like to do is honestly, and this is not my idea, I'm stealing this idea, but James Gunn had the idea to do a Drax/Mantis movie," the actor revealed when asked about his Marvel Cinematic Universe future. "And that's what I would be up for, because there's just too much fun there."

Now, Gunn has taken to Twitter to confirm that this is an idea he's suggested, and that it's one that "was never ruled out."

While the filmmaker is currently busy working on The Suicide Squad, it will now be interesting to see whether a spinoff like this is something Marvel Studios considers once he returns to them to work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. After all, it would work nicely on a platform like Disney+!

Would you guys be interested in a movie revolving around the unlikely duo of Drax and Mantis?

I would see a prequel starring Gamora and Nebula. Now that Marvel Studios wants to focus more on female characters, that movie can be a good idea.

@Repian - Doesn't even need to be a sequel. Gamora 2.0 and Nebula... whatever version of firmware she's up to... probably like 7.6 or something.

0 chance that’d be a movie, that would 100% be D+.

I thought before about how best to divide up the Guardians into pairs for a D+ show.

I think a Star-Lord & Yondu show would be interesting, where young Peter is learning the ropes from Yondu among the Ravagers.

Mantis & Drax where it’s a comedy and each episode focuses on the antics they get up to when the other Guardians aren’t looking would be fun.

Rocket & Groot goes without saying.

Gamora & Nebula drama/thriller where they’re training under Thanos and competing with each other would be awesome. Each episode would be a different mission where there’s the constant push/pull of them wanting to fulfill the mission to please Thanos, but sabotaging each other along the way, because each one wants the sole credit

Drax the Destroyer

From this Powered up version

They could have made him into a Space Conan and not hating on Bautista just the Drax character.
