The latest adaptation of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary is set to hit theaters next year with Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch (Starry Eyes) at the helm, and the cast of the remake continues to grow, as it finds an actor to bring one of its main characters to life.

The most recent addition, according to Deadline, is Amy Seimetz, (Alien: Covenant) who will be joining Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) and John Lithgow (The Crown), as the female lead.

Seimetz will be portraying Rachel Creed, the wife of Jason Clarke’s Louis Creed, and the mother of the child Gage, who becomes tragically affected by the pet graveyard. Though, how closely the film and Seimetz's role follows King's novel or the previous adaptation remains to be seen.

While the list of cast members is currently a small one, more casting announcements for the movie are sure to come out as it approaches its
April 5, 2019 release date and the start of production.

I was gonna say “Was she the stupid chick in Covenant?”, until I remembered that everybody in Covenant was stupid.

@MUTO123 - And the best comment goes to you! 😂

Seriously though, I know characters are suppose to make stupid decisions in movies to add more to the plot, but god damn! And they were suppose to repopulate together?! 😵 I guess we can thank David for that...

If I had a bag full of f*cks, I wouldn't give a single one to this movie.

I don’t understand why people click on a link to say they don’t care. I as a huge Stephen King am very much looking forward to this.

@BreakTheCode - same here. I really enjoyed IT and the Netflix adaptations. I'm looking forward to Pet Sematary, although no child will ever be as creepy as that little asshole who played Gabe. He still gives me the creeps.

@TheLight - The actual remakes and then the remakes that aren't officially remakes. The Meg (Jaws) and Skyscraper (DieHard) come to mind.

@TheLight - which is fine as long as they’re good or better then the original. A good bit aren’t, but some definitely come to mind. Even got one there in your own post with Friday the 13th.

Lots of room for improvement with PS, can adapt it closer to the source material, enjoy the original film also.

There is a great pet sematary documentary on Amazon Prime called unearthed and untold that fans of the film should check out.

I may be in the minority regarding this, but I like that we are getting different remakes. Some turn out great while some don’t, but I like the idea that another generation will have their version of the things we grew up with. That’s just me though.

The current casting bares a physical resemblance to their 1989 counterparts.

What do people have against CGI? Jeez. I grew up with practical effects movies and I can tell you, they can be just as bad as bad CGI. And good CGI can be better than good practical effects.

Jurassic Park 1 is an example. They actually created a huge monstrous T-Rex that looked great for practical effects, but it looked way too wooden in its movement compared to the CGI version. When that CGI T-Rex stomped that gallimimus to the ground near our main characters, it really felt real, not like some lifeless crane with fake skin. And from that moment on, I was thoroughly sold on CGI. But yeah, I've seen some bad CGI. What we want is good CGI and not bad CGI.

I always bring this up, but anyone notice that all the problems of pet semetary come from not building a fence between your yard and the dangerous road?
