If you have read Dracula, or to a lesser extent seen any movie adaptations you may remember that Demeter was the ship that carried the vampire's coffin from Transylvania to England. In the novel, the journey is covered by both visions from Mina Harker and some log entries from the ship's crew. Upon arrival, there was no crew because Drac had eaten them! This movie details that final voyage and both The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo's Noomi Rapace and Sir Ben Kingsley have signed on to star.

Apparently Rapace will play a stowaway, and while Kingsly's role is unrevealed, the LA Times say that the project has yet to nab a lead actor. Whether that lead will play Dracula is unknown. As he spends most of the journey in his coffin, its unlikely. The film will be directed by Oscar-winner Stefan Ruzowitzky (The Counterfeiters) and produced by the team behind Shutter Island. Sounds very interesting.

Rapace is very much in demand at the moment. Her performance as misanthropic computer hacker Lisbeth Salander in The Millennium Trilogy ensuring that she has the pick of parts. She is now lined up for roles in both Sherlock Holmes 2 and Mission Impossible 4, as well as being rumored to be a front runner for Ridley Scott's Alien prequel.
