CHUCKY Returns In The First Teaser Trailer & Poster For USA & SyFy's CHILD'S PLAY Spinoff Series

Sorry Jack, Chucky's back! Following a few teasing glimpses, we have a first proper look at SyFy's Child's Play spinoff, which will see Brad Dourif return to lend his unmistakable voice to the killer doll.

The recent Child's Play remake was actually pretty decent, all things considered, but fans of the original franchise were very pleased with the news that Brad Dourif's original Chucky would soon be slicing his way on to the small screen.

Airing USA and SyFy, the spinoff show will see Dourif return to voice the killer toy of the title, and he'll be joined by Bride of Chucky's Jennifer Tilly as the equally kill-happy Tiffany.

We've seen a few teasing glimpses already, but this first teaser trailer (brief though it may be) gives us a proper look at Chucky, and the doll's design is practically identical to the original's.

"The main character is a 14-year-old gay boy who's bullied and sort of lost after the recent death of his mother," says franchise creator Don Mancini. "He's a young artist [making] sculptures with doll parts. He finds Chucky at a yard sale and buys him, but it turns out that he gets much more than he bargained for. One of the things I wanted to do was bring [the franchise] back to its Child's Play roots and have the protagonists [be] kids. But since, with the first couple of movies, we'd already delved into having little kids I wanted to explore something different, so this time we're exploring young teenagers."

The cast also includes Lexa Doig (Jason X), Devon Sawa (Final Destination), Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, and Christine Elise. Chucky will premiere Oct. 12 at 10 p.m. on USA and SYFY.

@IronGenesis - it's all the rage for Horror franchises to turn to young adults these days. From It to Walking Dead: A World Beyond.

If there would be a new Friday the 13th it would probably also deal with young teens taking on Jason and avenging their counselors in a PG13 way.
Only franchise that's safe from the Stranger Things curse is Nightmare on Elm Street (because of it's...erm...not so kid friendly subject matter)

I am really getting tired of these 20 second teasers….

Can we just get a 2 minute or so trailer so we can actually get a better idea of the plot?

Chucky looks decent. Its really hard to replicate the magic that Kevin Yagher put in with the original Good Guy Doll. The man is a magician when it comes to animatronic puppets.

But either way, I am curious to see where this takes the franchise.

Looks way better than the crappy reboot

@Scamoo - Sooooo because I favor the classic (original) child's play and notice they're delving back into the original horror aspects (per interviews) and footage showcased here that makes me bias? That's like saying the newer halloween movies (embracing nostalgiac aspects from the originals) is a bad.

@Scamoo - I can obviously tell you don't appreciate classic horror flicks. Lol

Not a big Chucky fan, but it's got some good people behind it. Probably watch.

This is much better than the face of chucky from "cult of chucky"

@Repian - Also, surely one of the teenagers is Chucky's nephew and we will discover Lee Ray's childhood. Also, we will discover how his parents dealt with a serial killer son.
