The remake of the slasher film favorite "Friday the 13th" that was released last year surprised a lot of people, critics and fans alike, by taking in nearly $100 million. Shortly after the studio saw how successful the film was, a sequel seemed inevitable. Plot hints were even being dropped by the Platinum Dunes crew. However, film producer, Brad Fuller, said via a Twitter "conversation" with a fan that Friday the 13th: Part 2 is "dead."
The folks over at Shocktilyoudrop.com seem to think that there is more to this story than has been released, so keep an eye out for more information.
ecksmanfan: I'm a big fan of the original films, well the first couple of films at least. I saw the remake and was neither impressed nor disappointed. They took some liberties with the story, to the point that the only similarity was the fact that Jason Voorhees was the killer. If you looked at the film as a separate entity, it wasn't terrible. I'm surprised to hear this news, especially seeing how much the first film grossed.
