Ghostbusters: Afterlife has been playing in theaters for a few weeks now (you can check out our review here), so special make-up and creature designer Arjen Tuiten has taken to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes look at one of the movie's best-kept secrets.
The 1984 classic's big bad, Gozer The Gozerian, aka The Destructor, aka The Traveller, aka Volguus Zildrohar, returns to finish what they started towards the end of Afterlife. The genderless deity was played by Yugoslavian actress Slavitza Jovan in the first film, but Olivia Wilde (Tron: Legacy, A Vigilante) stepped into "flattop's" sparkly heels this time for a memorable extended cameo.
Though Gozer's return was pretty much spoiled in the most recent trailer, Wilde's involvement was a big surprise, and her name didn't even appear during the end credits.
In the post below, Tuiten reveals that the actress spend over 5 hours in the make-up chair to complete her transformation into Gozer. He's also given us a look at the villain's final look in a screenshot from the finished film.
