Horror fans were disappointed when the Halloween trailer that screened at SDCC wasn't released to the public, but star Jamie Lee Curtis has now confirmed via Twitter that we'll be getting a new look at the movie tomorrow, while debuting a new poster.

The one-sheet features Laurie Strode preparing to "face her fate" as an inevitable second encounter with her relentless brother nemesis Michael Myers looms.

David Gordon Green's film is a direct sequel to John Carpenter's iconic original, meaning that the events of all of the previous follow-ups - including the still highly regarded Halloween 2 - have been retconned out of existence.

@MUTO123

You and I practically share the same list. I would switch out Happy Death Day for Hush since I still haven’t seen it. Been on my radar for a while though.

Is this a sequel to H20 or is this like Superman returns where it ignores some sequels but keeps the original?
MUTO123
MUTO123 - 9/4/2018, 2:14 PM
@Knightrider - It’s ignoring everything except the original.

I wonder if theaters will show a double feature, play the original before the new one. That would be sick.

Hopefully its a not a toxic feminitnity women power pos and a true honest piece of work like the original.

Better not be 2 hours of micheal myers getting his ass kicked.

Also can we get a retro poster for this release?

Im like all about everything Halloween, but I have doubts this director can capture what made JCs original so special. It had a sort of quiet slow burn to it, and that made the build up to everything that much cooler.

Really hope, they do JCs characters justice and its not just another cash grab for political BS.

@Kd666dash3dot7 - Loved the original. Watched it at the drive in when it was released and it scared the hell out of me.
