It seems David Gordon Green has wasted very little time getting right back work on the final chapter of his Halloween trilogy, as production is now underway on Halloween Ends.
Several set snaps have been shared online, and star Jamie Lee Curtis has also posted a behind-the-scenes photo of herself as she prepares to reprise the role of Laurie Strode for the original Halloween heroine's final showdown with the seemingly unstoppable Michael Myers.
Halloween Kills (you can check out our review here) concluded on a shocking note with the death of Laurie daughter Karen (Judy Greer) at the hands of "The Shape," and Strode vowed vengeance after realizing what happened. Green has already confirmed that there will be a four-year time-jump, however, so End clearly has a few surprises in store.
Kills was basically a showcase for Myers' relentless appetite for destruction, but Green revealed that Ends is going to take the story in a very different direction altogether during a recent interview with Empire.
“It’s kind of a coming-of-age film, and it’s a very different tone,” said the director. “That’s what excited me about it, is to have the three chapters that I’ve been involved in be very different from each other. They are all there to honor Carpenter, but aren’t necessary just emulating him.”
