HALLOWEEN: Get A Chilling Sample Of John Carpenter's Updated Version Of His Classic Theme

A fake version of this actually did the rounds last month, but now you can get your first real idea of how John Carpenter's new Halloween theme will sound in the upcoming horror sequel. Have a listen...

John Carpenter's original Halloween score went on to become one of the most recognisable and iconic movie themes of all time, and the horror maestro has re-teamed with collaborators Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies to bring us an all-new version of the chilling synth soundtrack for David Gordon Green's upcoming revival.

Now, Sacred Bones Records has released a (very) brief snippet of the new theme along with details on where you can pre-order the full soundtrack on vinyl.

In addition, we have a scanned image from the latest issue of EW which gives us a horrifying new glimpse of Michael Myers. Someone is definitely getting strangled with those bells!

Soooo good.

I used to have the Halloween theme song as my ringtone when I had a sick ass Virgin Mobile slider.

(ok it wasn't that sick)

I'm just hoping this is successful so that Carpenter might decide to make some more films. That guy has made some of my favorites The Thing, EFNY, They Live, Halloween, and Christine just to name a few.

@CurlyBill - The Thing is a horror masterpiece, my favorite of his films. Halloween being a close second of course!

VERY brief snippet. Pretty much sounded the same to me. I have the original soundtrack on a vinyl re-release from Mondo records, and the 2nd and 3rd film soundtracks on releases from Death Waltz Records. Very cool stuff. I love putting them on for pumpkin carving music in October. The vinyl release pictured above looks sick!
