NOTE: The Playlist has recently gotten confirmation from producer Derek Frey of Tim Burton Productions that there is indeed "no truth to the rumor."

Here is some big news coming out of camp DreadCentral today. According to their sources, they have received word that even though the director is currently plugging away on his DARK SHADOWS adaptation, he is also ready to get started on the highly anticipated a NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS followup...

Below is a quote from DreadCentral explaining the breaking story;

"The news comes to us from a recent interview with Paul "Pee Wee Herman" Reubens (who worked with Burton on Pee Wee's Big Adventure) in promotion of his live show that hits Broadway next week. When asked if he would like to work with Burton again Ruebens replied that he'd like to, but Burton had so many projects happening right now, including Dark Shadows, so it's not likely. He went on to mention a few more projects, but the big reveal came when Ruebens mentioned that Burton was also planning a sequel to The Nightmare Before Christmas."

Great news for fans and something to look forward to in the future. To read the entire story from Dread click HERE.

Cool the first one is an instant classic. This one would be cool. They should have Jack Skelington go to the Christmas world and introduce Halloween to them.

@superbatspiderman if the sequal is going to have Jack go to the christmas world and introduce halloween to them, then the title should be "The Eve of Halloween"

ooooor possibly we can leave something great alone and not potentially destroy it? I would obviously see it and expect something great out of it, but thats my point. I would EXPECT SOMETHING GREAT. and from past experience expecting a sequel to live up to the original is a heartbreaker.
