Special Effects Master, Greg Nicotero Could Possibly Move From The Walking Dead To The Evil Dead Reboot

SFX make-up master Greg Nicotero sure loves working on projects that have dead in the title. Does adding someone with his pedigree increase your optimism for the Evil Dead reboot?

Greg Nicotero has a great resume that features some great monster/creature movies; having worked on "Day of the Dead", "Evil Dead II", "Army of Darkness ", "Land of the Dead", "Diary of the Dead", amongst a truly staggering filmography Nicotero is probably the go-to-guy for SFX in these types of films. I highly recommend you check out his filmography list, it's astounding. In regards to The Evil Dead reboot, here's what Nicotero told STYD about possibly jumping on the project which will be helmed by Fede Alvarez and features a script from Diablo Cody:

Nicotero: ""We would love to do [that project]. I believe they might be shooting in New Zealand, so that might be prohibitive. I know they would love to have us and I know we'd love to do it, I just don't know where it's going to go. I spoke to [producer] Rob [Tapert] and said, with the stuff we're doing on The Walking Dead, I can only imagine how cool it would be to do something with the make-up would be so much fun."

Gregory Nicotero (born March 15, 1963) is an American special effects creator and actor. In 1988, along with Robert Kurtzman and Howard Berger, he formed KNB Efx Group, a special effects studio which has gone on to work on over 400 film and television projects. KNB has won numerous awards, including an Emmy Award in 2001 for their work on the 2000 Sci Fi Channel miniseries Frank Herbert's Dune and they were awarded an Academy Award in 2006 for achievement in makeup for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Oh come on, now I am torn. I really wanted to see his work on this movie. But then again, no Ash and no Sam? That's not Evil Dead.
