While The Haunting of Bly Manor didn't quite live up to its predecessor and much more narratively-cohesive counterpart, The Haunting of Hill House, the first series still stands out as one of the most spectacular haunted mansion stories in recent years and holds a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.

While haunted house films are nothing new, The Haunting of Hill House definitely made its mark. One upcoming movie from Uncork'd Entertainment has followed in the footsteps of the series, The Inheritance, which had its trailer release today and definitely channels Hill House's vibes.

Starring Natalia Ryumina and Nick Wittmanstar, the upcoming film by Chad Barager and Kevin Speckmaier is set to hit on-demand and DVD on April 13th.

Check out the trailer and synopsis for The Inheritance below, and be sure to share your thoughts in the usual spot!

A woman's inheritance takes her to Europe where she will uncover a dark and disturbing family secret. Once she is alone in the former family manor, paranormal occurrences in the home begin and slowly intensify. She is forced to face her fears to uncover dark secrets lurking in her family history. And the deeper she delves into the secrets the home possesses, the more horrifying the answers become.

The Inheritance hits on-demand and DVD on April 13, 2021. In the meantime, horror fans can hear our exclusive Army of the Dead chat with stuntman Joe Fidler below.

Of all the haunted house cliches, I think the "Book falls off shelf" trope is my least favorite. I love reading, but if I'm already on edge and I see and hear that my first reaction isn't to walk up to it and start reading but to try to keep my bowels from violently evacuating my last three meals while sprinting out of the house.
