"You can't run. You can't escape. She's got plans for you."
It's been a long wait, but the official theatrical trailer for Universal Pictures' The Mummy has arrived and it features Tom Cruise facing an evil unlike any he's faced before.
The trailer kickstarts with an intense action sequence where Cruise and Jake Johnson's characters are seen running atop buildings while shooting down a number of enemies before the duo inadvertently unearth an ancient tomb or as Annabelle Wallis' Jenny Halsey puts it "a prison."
We're then treated to more information about the past history of Sofia Boutella's monster before it fast forwards to the present where, just like in the teaser trailer, Nick Morton (Cruise) meets his maker and is then resurrected for reasons unknown. However, Russell Crowe's Dr. Jekyll ominously teases that he's been chosen for something much bigger than he could ever imagine by the forces of evil - the ultimate evil.
The trailer, which is brilliantly set to The Rolling Stones' hit "Paint It Black," then proceeds to take us through the epic and terrifying action as Tom Cruise takes on the Mummy and attempts to prevent a new age of Gods and Monsters, but unfortunately for him, it may already be too late.
