Don Cheadle Says IRON MAN 3, "Could Be The Last One"
Despite saying that the door is open for future instalments, Don Cheadle (Iron Patriot) reveals that the main aim with Iron Man 3 was to get this one right in order for it to possibly be "the last one". He also details a humorous deleted scene which addressed his absence in The Avengers.
In an interview with Empire Online, Don Cheadle was asked whether or not there are plans for another Iron Man movie. The actor recently hinted that he may make an appearance in both Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Avengers 2, but Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow's contracts ended with Iron Man 3. "The door is always left open in these kinds of movies especially when they do as well as they have done,""I know there was talk of making sure we did this one right, and if it worked it could be the last one. There's room for more to be done with these characters. We're getting to a sweet spot with Tony and Rhodey, anyway. Robert's really busy, he's just had a kid, and if he were to say I need a break for a second, I would not blame him." As for where exactly Rhodey was during the events of Joss Whedon's superhero ensemble, Cheadle is just as in the dark about that as we are (despite a comic book prequel unconvincingly attempting to answer it). "That's a really good question, isn't it? I have no idea. It's a question that got into the movie. A kid asks Robert, how do you get to be an Avenger? I said, kid, that's the $25,000 question." That scene has since been cut, but here's hoping it makes it onto the Blu-ray! Read my review of Iron Man 3 by clicking HERE.
