MacGruber Getting Better Critical Reception than Iron Man 2?

MacGruber Getting Better Critical Reception than Iron Man 2?

Welcome to the apocalypse. It is now the end of the world.

UPDATE: Since the posting of this article (from yesterday), MacGruber's critical reviews over at RottenTomatoes have fallen below that of Iron Man 2. Thank God! The planets are aligned once again! Of course, I'm still going to see this.

This from BeatWeek...

MacGruber makes its box office debut tonight as the movie version of the SNL sketch is unleashed on the public. And while the movie had widely been expected to turn out to be one of the worst movies of all time, the critics say different, as eighty percent of the formal reviews posted thus far for the MacGruber movie have been of the positive variety. The critical approval represents a revelation for the movie, which seemingly had three strikes against it due to the fact that SNL is currently in one of its worst down cycles ever, movies based on SNL sketches have rarely turned out well since Wayne’s World set the bar nearly twenty years ago, and most importantly, the one-note MacGruber sketches are always exactly the same and never particularly clever or funny.

Nonetheless, critics have thus far placed the Macgruber movie ahead of the massively popular Iron Man 2, which has thus far only seen seventy-four percent positive reviews from critics. Those reviews were good enough for a reported $52 million at the box office; we’ll begin finding out tonight whether MacGruber fares as well with the public as it has thus far with the media.

not sure this headline is accurate....

RottenTomatoes has "McGruber" listed with a 66% while "Iron Man 2" has a 74%!

LAME! This is the kind of movie you watch on TV at the 3 A.M. when you got tired of the Juicer infomercials and Cinemax isn't showing soft porn.

Oh i see its compaired to iron man so therefor, that makes it comic related ok got ya. I'm sure people rather read about this rather then a super 8 article that was deleted due to not being comic related.

@gtrman EXACTLY!! and RT has Iron Man 2 at 74%!!! so how is McGruber better received??????????

@mounted88 RIGHT!! so if i write an article about how critics liked "The Blind Side" better than IM2 then it would be news?? i totally agree with you. this article doesnt belong here. it has nothing to do with comic book movies.

I think that watching mcgruber is gonna be like watching a room full of monkeys throwing their sh!t around...while it can be funny to watch, it'll get boring about 30 minutes later. Someone should get punched in the sack for comparing these two.
