New Thor Footage To Feature On Iron Man 2 Blu-Ray

Although it doesn't look like we will be getting the Comic Con footage from Thor and Captain America as was rumoured, it seems we will be getting some previously unseen Thor footage, as well as a whole lot more..

We had heard that this home release for Iron Man 2 would feature the Comic Con footage from both Thor and Captain America TFA as part of its special features. Well, that seems doubtful. But it will have quite a few Cap and Thor related goodies including some new footage from Kenneth Branagh's film.

The special features list reads as follows:

Get a close look at what's inside Howard Stark's case
Read Howard's first comic book issue of Captain America
Learn what Captain America's new shield is made of
Agent Coulson is the leading S.H.I.E.L.D agent in the "Project: New Mexico"
Take a detailed look on the map, the crashsite and crater
More information is about to come about the "Project: New Mexico"
Filming the "Thor's Hammer" scene from the end credits of "Iron Man 2"
Commentary from Kenneth Branagh, J. Michael Strazynski, Clark Gregg and more
New, never before seen footage from "Thor"

No hints as to what that new footage may be, or how much of it there is but nice to know there will be SOMETHING new to see when Iron Man 2 hits DVD and Blu-Ray September 28th. More features of interest to fans will be finding out what Cap's shield is made of(Will it differ from the comics?) and some more on "Project New Mexico", which of course refers to the finding of Mjoliner and ties directly into the Thor movie.

Poni said that there are at least 25 features that have yet to be revealed. Hopefully one of those 25 is the Cap footage. :)

Nah its a damn shame IRON MAN 2 was weak... still its worth buying but we need a better IRON MAN III ffs MARVEL!

I wouldn't say Iron Man 2 was weak! Lee your very black and white with movies. Don't you think anything is just good..without it having to be amazing or retched!

Oooh - one of the 'thumbnails' on one of those screencaps mentions a russian spy! Is that a reference to whiplashes dad??

Will he be in Captain America as someone working for Howard Stark? Would be cool if that was so :o)

As for Ironman II - I thought it as a little bit distracted with too much SHIELD. And not enough about Stark and his problems. I think I am in the minority as I think I am one of the few who rather enjoyed all the Pepper/Stark scenes. I thought that was when the film really had a bit of heart and came to life. Oh - and anything to do with Sam Rockwell!!

However I only saw it the once in the cinema so will be looking forward to watching it again soon an seeing if I still feel the same way.

ror@ lee77 does seem kind of a black and white guy. he either loves movies or hates them. which is fine, but its his choice of which ones to love (gijoe) and which ones to hate (wolverine) that concerns me :)

I just thought Tony Stark was a bit of a shadow of himself in Ironman II. Nothing came close in that film to the 'cave sequence' in the first film when he was building his first suits. Thought that was awesome.

Well I kinda of liked IM2 better than the first.
I hope that awesome features with Thor footage comes to the regular double DVD too.

Guess the rumours of the Comic Con footage being on the disc were false...I've read a couple of reviews of the blu-ray and no one mentions it anyway. This all sounds great though! I'm looking forward to seeing the movie again. :)

i dont care what anybody says IRON MAN 2 WAS AWESOME! i love all the easter eggs and just the movie overall, yea the last fight could have been better and longer but hey still a great movie. everyone needs to stop complaining about every lil detail is was a great movie overall and it did pump us up for the next movie ! THOR! THEN CAP ! THEN AVENGERS ! SWEET!

@Star, nope. Its possible that the footage exists somewhere in a hidden Easter egg or something but I seriously doubt it. Then again, I seriously doubted it when I first heard the rumor anyway!

I'm still wondering if Clash of the Titans ever had the Green Lantern footage? I appreciate what Marvel is trying to do here, but they've corrupted what was a potential Batman like franchise (personally thought that Iron Man was better than Batman Begins) to try and weave it into the Avengers... I'd like to see some outtake material with Sam Rockwell and RDJ, I would have thought those guys could have ad libbed something genius compared to what we got before the Monte Carlo race.

WOOP! Truthfully, I more excited to see the Captain America stuff.

I'd just like to point out that it's "Blu-ray" not "Blu-Ray." And, for future reference, if you want to shorten it it's "BD" not "BR." I'm a geek.
