REVIEWS: IRON MAN 3 and OBLIVION

I review the incredibly disappointing Iron Man 3. Read the review and find out why I was let down. Also I review the surprisingly good Oblivion. Check out that review as well.

Really? The worst? So Captain America fighting a dude with red skull doesbt have issues?

It is fantasy/fiction, how real can it be? I thought that Caps movie was awful, and by the time I got to Im3, I'm so used to stuff out of the realm of possibility I just sat back and ate my reeses. My brain has to work hard enough at work, I'm not looking to a flying robot for deep rooted plots and mstory lines so spiritually in depth that I think my morality. Just bang and put up good looking chicks with some comedy

@MitchConner Realism wasn't the problem I had with the movie it was more so the lazy story telling and poor directing among other things. The first Iron man had a good balance between humour and seriousness and also managed to be entertaining while offering a decent character driven story. To me IM3 was just lacking in all areas.
Thanks for the comment

If someone would have told me before hand that I would enjoyed Oblivion more than Iron Man 3 I would have laughed in their face. I am not a Tom Cruise fan. I loved the first two Iron Man movies. It just didn't seem possible that this could have happened.

The early reviews came in talking about "rust" and "fatigue" I just thought they didn't understand. (of course, O only read the summary, no spoliers) I rush to see and Thud!!! Lame. This was a disappointment.

Of course, these movies are different. Oblivion reminded of old mind bending sci-fi that got you thinking, well done. Iron Man 3 is a popcorn movie. However, it never seemed to fully embrace that. So Stark has internal demons flowing from his realization that his brilliance doesn't understand the universe. But what do we do with that - He fights demons he made years ago that have really nothing to do with his internal struggle. The character development was a non-sequitur. I didn't believe he was a changed man at the end of the movie and I didn't care. They should have just kept that out of the movie.
