Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-ha-ha-ha-haaaaaa!!!

I hope that you are joking, LordBaphomet! You do realize that 'A Princess of Mars' was written 100 years ago, right? James Cameron started writing Avatar like 12 years before the movie was made. Maybe I'm the dumb one, but if I'm not mistaken, math tells us that 100 is more than 12.

I like how Wolvie is the only other person to comment as this! Anyway, this movie is gonna be balls-to-the-walls awesome. I can't wait to see how John looks when he first experiences the different gravity level of Barssom. It's gonna sweet when he starts jumping around for the Tharks for the first time. I hope they show when he falls down and punches the life out of that dude for getting all up in his face!

Aaaaaah!!! I can't wait!

I hope this movie doesn't suck. I'm surprisingly optimistic about it.
Wait, why does grif get all the trolls when he says something not douchey?

I realize there are plenty of people who may not have any intentions of watching this movie and many more who dislike this genre entirely. However, some of you should do a little research before you place overzealous fingers to computer keys and make ignorant statements. There has yet to be one single John Carter thread I've seen that is not littered with "this looks like another Prince of Persia or "Great! Another Avatar Rip off."

Do your research. This story is 100 years old as Wolvie stated. Dislike it if you want to. Be disinterested if you choose but get your facts right. If it wasn't for John Carter we would be lacking many of today's Sci Fi stories people think are so original. This one was the ground breaker. It set the bar and gave roots to everything that came afterwards. It was waaaayyyy ahead of it's time and it looks like it's time has finally come.

I find it disturbing how many people, fellow geeks even, that have NO IDEA how long ago these stories were conceived...and how many properties owe their very existence to Burroughs and his science fiction genius.

My ONLY complaint is that the title sounds awkward w/out "of Mars"...but other than that, this will be a fantastic adventure film IMO
