With a budget that's considerably smaller than the vast majority of comic book movies, it's now been revealed that Joker is the most profitable superhero film of all-time.

As of right now, the R-Rated release has earned over $956 million at the worlwide box office just five weeks after it first arrived in theaters. $304.2 million of that comes from North America where Joker has broken a huge number of records and with a production budget of around $62.5 million and a small marketing budget, the movie has earned 15.3x what it cost to make.

Believe it or not, the previous record holder was 1994's The Mask starring Jim Carrery. That earned $353 million on a budget of $23 million despite being heavy on special effects at the time.

It's widely believed that Joker will ultimately reach $1 billion by the time all is said and done and that's a phenomenal result for Warner Bros., especially without a release in China. Now, you have to believe the studio will move forward with more "Black Label" R-Rated DC Comics adaptations.

Did you guys ever expect Joker to reach these heights?

Not really how profits are calculated (this would be “largest return on investment”, assuming the production budget accounted for all the money spent (it doesn’t) or that all extra expenses were even between all movies (they aren’t), but whatever.

Really?

If the Joker makes 1 Billion
Subtract 50 Million to produce
That leaves 950 Million
Divide that in half that goes to the movie theaters

That leaves 425 Million Profit

Endgame made 2.798 Billion
Subtract 1 Billion to produce ( It was much lower than that)
That Leaves 1.798 Billion
Divide that in half with the movie theaters

That leaves 900 Million Profit
