JOKER Set Photo Reveals What The Still Very Much Alive Thomas Wayne Is Up To In Gotham City - SPOILERS

In Joker, Thomas Wayne is very much alive and well despite being a man in his 60s and now a photo from the set of the DC Comics adaptation reveals what exactly he's doing with himself in Gotham City...

There are a lot of unanswered questions about Joker floating around with the being arguably being how and why Thomas Wayne is alive. After all, unless Bruce Wayne is going to grow up to become a Batman fighting a version of the Clown Prince of Crime who is decades older than him, there's something afoot here and it's possible that we'll visit a world where Batman's parents never died.

What that means for Bruce is hard to say. On the one hand, he could still be a child whose parents are ultimately killed by The Joker or another criminal. On the other, Thomas and Martha could have either given him up or had him stolen when he was a baby and Arthur Fleck will be revealed as Bruce, a crazy twist which essentially means Batman becomes The Joker (most think Arthur is Thomas' love child).

Regardless, a new set photo has now surfaced which reveals that Thomas Wayne is running for Gotham City mayor. That's an interesting twist and one which could point to us getting a Donald Trump style take on the character (in the respect that he's a billionaire who then runs for political office). What do you guys think? As always, weigh in with your thoughts and theories in the comments section below.

Still can’t figure out if I’m into this or not ... it’s almost like a big budget Gotham. Everything but Batman.

Did Josh not realize that Wayne is spelt Wanye in the poster? @JoshWilding

Shouldn't that have made it into the article? Gotta be a story there ..

Boy, they weren't lying when it was said that the flick was going head-on with the Scorsese influences.

Just from this set photo alone so far, the filmmakers seem to be making this version of Thomas Wayne something akin to Senator Palantine from TAXI DRIVER.

i don't think that Joker will be directly responsible for Bruce parents death. maybe J will briefly meet the killer or his actions will influence some robber to murder T&M Wayne.

or maybe ... Joker let some criminal live and that guy later kills Waynes.

@jerryblake - Would be kind of funny if Joker's spurned mother is the Waynes' assassin this time.
