Gal Gadot was in Brazil this weekend to promote
Wonder Woman 1984, and, as you might expect, the actress was asked about the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement (for those of you who haven't been keeping track, its supporters want to see the original version of Zack Snyder's
Justice League).
While the actress chose her words carefully, Gabot expressed her desire to see it in theaters or an online streaming service somewhere down the line when asked if she thinks something like that would be possible.
"I don't know," she admitted.
"I think that the movie suffered from very, you know very unfortunate and sad, you know circumstances. I would have loved to see the finished cut of Zack, and I hope that one day we'll get to see it, but I don't know." While Gadot was among those who shared the hashtag last month, she clearly doesn't know any more than the rest of us right now.
Warner Bros. brass must be aware of how much fans want to see the "Snyder Cut" of Justice League, but whether they care is another matter. However, releasing it would put an end for this constant demand for that version of the DC Comics adaptation and allow them to move on to a different era.
They appear to be working towards a more Marvel Studios-inspired tone if the
Wonder Woman 1984 trailer was any indicaction, but the likes of
Joker and
Birds of Prey will no doubt keep fans of the darker DCEU happy.
