Zack Snyder was keen to include the Green Lantern Corps in his cut of Justice League, and John Stewart was supposed to be the one who visited Bruce Wayne in the movie's final scene (because Warner Bros. has other plans for the character, they pushed for the filmmaker to use Martian Manhunter instead).
Recently, Snyder confirmed that he hoped to include Kilowog in that scene with Stewart, saying "Originally, we were going to have John Stewart and Kilowog come to the dock to see Bruce [Wayne]. That was the original, original idea."
We did, however, catch a glimpse of the fallen Green Lantern when the corrupted Superman was flying over the remains of the Hall of Justice.
Concept artist Jerad S. Merantz has now shared another of his Kilowog designs. "I really liked the stubble on the second option," he says. "I had an incredible time working on him with costume designer Michael Wilkinson. Kilowog is one of my favorite DC characters and I’ve always wanted to see a version of him leaning more towards pitbull than pig."
"I hope we get to see this guy in action one day," he concluded, echoing the sentiments of many fans.
Marantz has also shared his designs for the "guards" on Apokolips we only caught a glimpse of in Zack Snyder's Justice League last month:
