TRANSFORMERS Director Michael Bay Eyed To Helm LOBO As Warner Bros. Looks To Emulate DEADPOOL's Success

More unexpected DC news here, as it's being reported that Transformers helmer Michael Bay is being eyed to direct Lobo, a project that Warner Bros. believes could be its answer to the Deadpool franchise...

Michael Bay knows all about big budget blockbusters after helming FIVE Transformers movies and it appears as if the prolific filmmaker is about to finally make the leap to the world of superheroes. According to The Wrap, the director is being eyed by Warner Bros. to take the helm of what they see as their answer to Deadpool and it makes sense given the similarities between him and Lobo.

After all, Lobo is a foul-mouthed badass who goes on some pretty zany adventures and Bay has already met with DC to discuss the project and give writer Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman) some notes on the screenplay which he's currently rewriting. Once that's done, the studio will show it to Bay in a bid to get him to sign on to direct the project which has been rumoured to be in the works for years.

It's noted that, "The project centers on a blue-skinned, 7-foot-tall, heavily muscled antihero alien who works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter." Brad Peyton was previously attached to direct and it's now going to be interesting seeing how Lobo comes together. How do you guys feel about this news? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

It's from Elmayimbe

The guy who got in a fight with James Mangold on twitter over what was in Logan, lost that fight, and then tried to frame Mangold as a racist again Hispanics because Mangold called Elmayimbe a cockroach which having seen Logan is complete bullshit

Having said that if this turns out true somehow, then as a DC fan

Ever since all the stuff with Weinstein and the sexually harassment in Hollywood; how the hell has nothing about Michael Bay come out especially when Megan Fox's audition for Transformers was her washing Michael Bay's car in a bikini.

@NOVAtheSUPA - Elmayimbe had a scoop that Deadpool would be in it or be in an after credit scene. Mangold said it's bullshit. After the film came out, Elmayimbe gloated since there was the Deadpool teaser but it wasn't in the film or after credits like Elmayimbe said.

Mangold saw this and called him out on that and saying Mr Sinister was in the film which Elmayimbe reported months ago.

Basically Mangold went berserker mode on Elmayimbe

All I'm saying it might be solid. JP is a solid actor. Can't get worse than method Leto.

@Roodi - JP is an amazing actor, He is also a 44 yr old actor and production hasn't even started yet.

This Joker origin film is destined to fail.

Throwing shit at the wall and saying it can't get any shittier if I throw more isn't a solution.
