What if Tony Stark had a vision of an impending invasion? What if Tony sought to master the power of the infinity stones and use them, preemptively against an alien foe? What if committing genocide against an unknown force, was the only way for Tony to do it? Is that the fight for freedom? Or simply fear? This fan-trailer brings these ideas to life, as we witness the dichotomy of Tony Stark's own heroics. Is it sufficient for Tony Stark to try to take on Thanos before he strikes? Is genocide in the face of potential future genocide justified? Captain America does state, after all, "I thought the punishment usually came after the crime."
What if the crime needs to be committed by his friend? What if the only one who could stop Tony Stark from becoming a murderer, was by sacrificing his best friend to do so?
