Although things are slowly but surely returning to normal and standard theatrical releases are expected to resume very soon, Disney has announced another couple of delays, and one upcoming Marvel Studios film will now open almost a full year after it was originally dated.
The untitled movie that was set to premiere on October 7, 2022, has now been pushed back to October 6, 2023, while the November 2023 release will now hit theaters just a week later on November 10, 2023.
These were placeholder dates with no titles officially attached, but the October release is rumored to be the new Blade movie starring Mahershala Ali in the title role. That always seemed like pure speculation based on process of elimination, but if it is the Daywalker's reboot, fans are going to have to wait another year to see him in action. Blade did have a writer on board in Watchmen scribe Stacy Osei-Kuffour, but Marvel was in the process of searching for a director.
An untitled live-action Disney flick has also been removed from the studio's release schedule altogether. It was slated to arrive in theaters on October 6, 2023, but has now been replaced by the mysterious Marvel movie.
We're not expecting these untitled releases to be announced any time soon, but we'll be sure to keep you updated.
