CinemaCon 2016: MEN IN BLACK & 21 JUMP ST Crossover Confirmed!

It looks as though the Men In Black will be crossing over with Schmidt, Jenko and Korean Jesus! Find out more after the jump

Rumours and speculation about this one have been circulating around the internet since the 2014 Sony email leak, but now it's finally official - the world of secret agent alien hunters MIB will be crossing over with the undercover cops from Jump St; MIB23, the 21 Jump St and Men in Black crossover film was officially announced at Sony's CinemaCon last night.

Whilst fans of both respective franchises will be glad to hear that they will be continuing, returning cast and crew are yet to be confirmed; there is a rather large shadow of doubt over Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in particular but it's a pretty safe bet to say we'll probably being seeing Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum continue their bromance.

James Bobin - who helmed the latest two Muppet films and Alice Through The Looking Glass is expected but as yet unconfirmed to direct.

This is a particular bold and unprecedented move for Sony Studios, most well known in the CBM community for being the studio that tanked two Spider-Man franchises and for almost greenlighting an Aunt May solo flick.

Fans couldn't be blamed for not seeing much crossover potential between these two franchises but if they can pull it off, we can be sure to see a lot more left field match ups. MIB3 had a worldwide gross of $624 million and 22 Jump St $331 million so there is certainly a lot of financial potential in the move.

MIB joins Disney’s MCU, Warner Brothers DCEU and Universal's fledgling classic monsters universe as the latest cinematic shared universe.

What do you guys think of the news? Any other crazy crossovers you'd like to see?

I re-watched both jump streets recently. Had an absolute blast. I'm not expecting huge things from this movie but it sure as heck will be fun!

What bothers me about this isn't the film itself? (Honestly, it sounds fun), but the fact that neither Phil Lord or Chris Miller are returning. Raises a lot of red flags.

It's Sony... nothing more to say... And as far as i'm concerned there's no MIB without Smith and Lee and i don't think they'll get them back for this...

23MIB would've been a better title.

I'm genuinely excited for this, the idea is so stupid that it works if it's as self-aware as the previous two movies.

The first made fun of remake.
Second made fun of sequels
This should make fun of connected universes.
