John Arturo - When did you start collecting and how did you get into the hobby?
Steven Seda - I started collecting when I was 7, for the past 17 years I've been collecting a variety of comic related memorabilia. It started with books, then figures, and now I'm into the busts and fine arts.
John Arturo - It looks as of your are a big colossus fan, what makes colossus an appealing character to you?
Steven Seda - When I was young my grandmother bought me a colossus figure thinking it was a power ranger toy. After reading the bio on the back of the package, to be honest I fell in love with the character. I love how he's a giant yet so timid and kind, but can be a force to be reckoned with when the time comes. I guess as I got older I felt I related to the character as I am a giant myself haha.
John Arturo - Do you collect anything else?
Steven Seda - I still collect comic books, but lately I've been looking for more rare/hard to get comics such as Giant Size X-men #1, as well as rare busts and statues. I also collect hats, DVD's, and t-shirts.
John Arturo - What is your favorite collectibles company?
Steven Seda - If I had to choose I'd say I have two, I really like Sideshow Collectibles and Kotobukiya for their realism and attention to detail.
John Arturo - What is your favorite part of collecting?
Steven Seda - Christmas, no really I love searching for pieces I don't have because they don't make as many Colossus items as they would for your main stream characters like Wolverine, and Captain America. It's fun to find a new piece to add to my collection that I don't have.
John Arturo - What is the key thing you look for in an item that you want to add to your collection?
Steven Seda - When it comes to figures and toys, in box as mint as possible. In smaller objects as coasters, magnets, and even playing cards, I tend to look for anything that might have the X-men including Colossus. As far as fine arts and busts go, proportion and realism. I like to look into the faces of the character and see such detail that it looks like they could be real.
John Arturo - What is your favorite movie?
Steven Seda - Other than "X2" and "X3"(because Colossus was in them) if I had to choose a favorite, I'd have to say "V for Vendetta". The acting was amazing, I felt each actor/actress played their characters spot on. The story line was also true to the book with out over doing it.
John Arturo - What is your favorite piece from your collection?
Steven Seda - My favorite piece would have to be my Marvel Milestones Trials of Colossus statue from Diamond Select. It was the first statue that I ever owned, my brother Mark had gotten it for me for Christmas about 4 years ago.
John Arturo - What are some items you are most looking forward to adding to your collection?
Steven Seda - One piece that I'm really looking forward to is the 1/4 scale Colossus statue by Sideshow it will officially be the biggest piece to my collection.
John Arturo - Finally what is your favorite aspect of comicbookmovie.com?
Steven Seda - One thing that I really enjoy about comicbookmovie.com would definitely have to be the articles, updates, and trailers for all of the new upcoming cbms that are coming out. Being a huge movie buff myself I love reading new information and behind the scenes looks at all of the movies that I am most looking forward to seeing. I'm on everyday reading and following every article that is posted also the fan fiction sections are very entertaining and interesting.
