Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros. has purchased a script titled 'Harker', which will be a re-imagining of the Dracula story we all know and love.
'Harker' will turn the main character into a Scotland Yard detective who is on the trail of the classic murdering blood-sucking Dracula.

Jaume Collet-Serra (Unknown) is apparently attached to direct the film which will be the start of a film franchise revolving around Jonathan Harker.
Collet-Serra is no stranger to the horror film genre, having directed 'House of Wax' and 'The Orphan'.

Personally I have no problems with this, I absolutely love Dracula and all the characters within, they offer something different than most modern characters and I'm interested to see what Collet-Serra can do with it.

The classic Bela Lugosi movie is already a 're-imagining'. Nosferatu is the original Dracula movie.

cool. i love dracula. but the best dracula film for me is the gary oldman one. although it relied heavily on the romance between drac and mina (which does not exist in the novel, it is only implied) it is the best film for me. bela lugosi is the man but gary oldman is the god.

@Hiraga...technically Nosferatu is a re-imagined version of Dracula...it borrowed elements from the Bram Stoker story. They are clearly trying to milk the new bad-ass style Sherlock Holmes trope.

I know that. It was originally going to be titles Dracula, however they couldn't get the rights so they went with Nosferatu.
Hollywood has been milking these franchises for since the beginning. How many Dracula/Frankenstein/Wolfman sequels did we get?
