Mark Millar's Nemesis Gets A Screenwriter, Or Does It?

A new post from Latino Review claims that Millar's awesome super villain story is now being fast tracked to production with screen writer Matthew Michael Carnahan on board. Millar seems to suggests differently..

Latino Review claim that Mark Millar's Nemesis now has a screenwriter. The film will be directed by Tony Scott, but so far not much else is known about the project..

Anyway, the project is being fast tracked as I hear that screenwriter Matthew Michael Carnahan (LIONS FOR LAMBS, STATE OF PLAY) is in talks to adapt Millar's comic into a screenplay.

Ok, sounds cool to me. Except Millar just tweeted..

My Nemesis film gets a screenwriter? Interesting:

And followed with a link to the article. Although his comment is vague and doesn't disproves Latino Review's claim, it does at least hint that the info isn't entirely accurate. Of course he could just be stirring the pot too I guess! What do you think?

the one thing I think we've learned is that when he sells the rights to Fox or other studios he's not involved with who ends up working on it... he just created the comics he's not a studio executive he only knows what they tell him

he's spun so much bull in the past he needs to shut up.. I'm still waiting for that Superior announcement that was happening in January.. Millar is an attention hog plain and simple, baiting people with his useless Tweets

Absolutely agree about Millar. As for a Nemesis movie:Meh.I'd rather see 2000AD's Nemesis the Warlock on the big screen.

This has a lot of potential if done right. I'm getting a Fight Club/Matrix/Kick Ass feel from the story.

Seems that he was surprised by the news. Nemesis could work great as a movie, as long as they don't butcher it like they did with Wanted (though Wanted would be almost impossible to translate into movie. Not only for the amount of costumes and effects that would be needed, but because all of the characters are anti-social psychotics, lol. Not really family friendly. Great book though).

You gotta take anything Millar says with a grain of salt…remember he was saying that Kick Ass 2 was rolling right into production, that everyone from the first film was already signed on…then just about the entire cast and director shot that news down saying they knew nothing about the sequal.

Cool! The original State of Play or the new version with Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck and Helen Mirren?
Both were very good so it doesnt really matter but im just curious.

I hear good things about this comic and I love everything I've read of Millar's, but that has got to be one of the most dull, boring, uninspired costumes in all of comics.

I was completely underwhelmed by "Nemesis", which was the first Millar book I didn't like (and has now actually started a trend. I hate Millar's work now).

However, Tony Scott seems the perfect fit, and if they got the Lions For Lambs screenwriter onboard (which seems like an odd choice for an action film), color me interested.

I guess now it depends on who they cast. Please keep Denzel and Travolta away from this movie.

Am I the only one waiting for the announcement of the director of Superior that was supposed to be made in January as well as the announcement of 2010 most profile actor as Superior which was also supposed to be announced in January.
