PJ should take a break from middle earth and make some other projects. Then return one last time for the Silmarillion.

@Instant justice - TRUTH.

Silmarillion is 50x the size and scope of LOTR, we will never ever see it on the big screen cause it would take at least 9 or so movies to briefly explain everything. Also the Tolkeins will never give up the rights to it which I don't blame them for. It's like holy scripture to them, it shouldn't be tainted.

But..........a tv series would be epic.....lol

Instead of making the silmarillion one movie, or one set of movies (which is of course insane) they should pick out stories from it, hand them to different directors and make a whole shit ton of movies. There are too many characters, too many little stories, it'd be like adapting the bible into one movie or trilogy. I'd rather have Darren aronofsy's Noah, the last temptation of Christ, the Ten Commandments etc.

The folks of the Tolkein estate (for some reason) doesn't like Peter Jackson's LOTR trilogy. I'm still not sure why. I think it's about as perfect a translation of the source material as you can get. Given that, I doubt they'd let him do the Silmarillion or anyone else for that matter.
