Who is EMMA FROST?
EMMA FROST is the former Hellfire Club's WHITE QUEEN, a villainess of the X-Men. Now she fights in their ranks. She is a powerful telepath and can change her body into an organic diamond form.
Emma Grace Frost is a fictional character that appears in Marvel Comics. She first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #129 (January 1980), and was created by writer Chris Claremont and artist/co-writer John Byrne. An urbane, mutant telepath with a well-noted dry wit.
CHANGING LOOKS
WHITE QUEEN
When we first meet EMMA FROST she was the Hellfire Club's WHITE QUEEN. As WHITE QUEEN of the Hellfire Club, Emma wore the outfit she had when hired as a dancer; a white corset and panties, thigh-high white boots, opera gloves and a fur-trimmed cape.
Teaching the Hellions
While still being connected with the Hellfire Club, EMMA FROST started her own school to recruit and teach young mutants. She named her pupils Hellions and her group always find themselves at odds with the X-Men's New Mutants.
She sometimes wear less revealing clothes when she's with her pupils… sometimes.
The 90s
The 90s costume of the WHITE QUEEN does not veer away from her previous clothing. Except that her outfit now seems like a one piece swimsuit with laces.
Generation X
EMMA FROST lost her Hellions against a time travelling mutant, which left her distraught. This event was her turning point the next time she gathered new students, it was formed under the X-Men's umbrella and her young group of mutants were known as Generation X. When EMMA FROST became a teacher for Generation X, she wore a more street clothes-like outfit, though it was by no means demure. White tight pants, a zipped-up bodice, a choker with an x-symbol and a white blazer.
Later on she would wear an outfit similar to her Generation X students, only in white.
X-Men
Her Generation X school was later shut down, and her students went their different ways. For a time she teached on the mutant island nation of Genosha, until this was destroyed by Sentinels. She was then invited to be in the X-Men, and she accepted.
Here are some of her X-Men outfits:
For a time when Ms. Frost, was giving.. ahem… theraphy to Mr. Summers, she wore his wife's Phoenix uniform.
Black Queen
When the villainous Norman Osborn became the top cop of Marvel Universe, he planned to replace the X-Men with his own team of Dark X-Men. He coaxed EMMA FROST to be part of this group. Emma took on the name of Black Queen (well because she's wearing black outfit...duh).
Diamond Form
Aside from her telepathy, EMMA FROST developed a secondary mutation which turns her body into an organic diamond-like material. In this form she is unable to use her telepathic abilities.
LIVE MEDIA
1. Finola Hughes
EMMA FROST appears in the 1996 live-action television movie called Generation X portrayed by Finola Hughes. The show only showed her telepathic abilities because the comicbook version has not yet developed the secondary mutation of turning herself into diamond.
2. Tahyna Tozzi
Emma appears in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine portrayed by Tahyna Tozzi. She has the ability to change into a diamond form but does not display telepathy. In the film, she was the sister of Kayla Silverfox.
3. January Jones
January Jones will play EMMA FROST in X-Men: First Class, she appears to be part of the Hellfire Club, and sports both her telepathic and diamond skin powers.
POWERS & ABILITIES
Note: Due to the nature of comicbooks being an on-going tale, the character's powers along with his appearance, is in a constant state of flux.
EMMA FROST possesses telepathic abilities and has been cited as a "World-class telepath" and a "Psi of the Highest Order" capable of extraordinary telepathic feats.
Telepathy: Since her introduction, Frost has displayed the telepathic standards of broadcasting and receiving thoughts, mind-control, altering perceptions and memories, projection of offensive blasts of psionic energy causing mental pain or unconsciousness, astral projection, mind switching, brain engram modification, mental sedation of unconscious victims, induction of mental pain by touch, and limited pychometry. Frost is also very adept at performing 'psychic surgery': the utilization of pin-pointed psionic energy to exert absolute control over individual brain functions such that the physical form can be manipulated.
Latent Telekinesis: Emma was also stated to be a potential telekinetic. During one event, Emma unintentionally levitated some utensils while facing a nightmare.
Organic Diamond Form: As a result of undergoing a body-wide secondary mutation, Frost now possesses the ability to transform her body into a flexible organic diamond form.
Superhuman Strength: In her diamond form, Frost's physical strength is increased to superhuman levels. At her peak, she is able to lift approximately 2 tons.
Superhuman Stamina: While transformed, Frost's muscle tissue becomes infinitely more efficient than the organic musculature of normal humans, or most other organic beings for that matter. Her muscles produce almost no fatigue toxins during physical activity, granting her almost limitless superhuman stamina, or at least until or unless she is forced to resume her normal state.
Superhuman Durability: Frost's diamond form renders her highly resistant to most forms of physical injury. She is able to resist great impact forces, such as being repeatedly struck with superhuman force, without being injured. Her body is also resistant to temperature extremes, able to withstand temperatures as cold as -320 degrees Fahrenheit or as hot as approximately 7,362 degrees Fahrenheit before her form begins to melt. Frost is also self contained while transformed, requiring no food, water or oxygen.
AbilitiesExpert Technician: EMMA FROST is highly skilled in electronic theory and electronics and has learned how to build devices that can amplify psionic energy and utilize psionic energy for various effects.
Defense Training: EMMA FROST is an above average athlete and has had some training in hand-to-hand combat.
Master Astral Combatant: EMMA FROST is trained and excels in astral combat.

This is the 34th article in my Know Your CBM Character series. Any requests and suggestions for an article for this series write it down in the comment section BELOW.
Message to the CBM community:To those who are making requests, check first [here] because I might have done an article on the character already. If I have not please be patient, I will get on it as soon as possible (but consider the fact that I spend hours writing one of these articles). Try to limit your request to characters that already have been adapted to live media, so that the feature will at least be relevant to the site – Comic Book Movie(though I include TV characters). Characters in Manga or Anime’, I am not particularly familiar of, I am not discounting these characters but it will probably take some time before I write a feature on them because I have to read up on these characters. Thank you for reading these articles! If there are errors on the feature article above, blame it on my age, humanity and ignorance. Just be sure to check the comment section for the corrections, any error I made will surely be pointed out and corrected by much bigger geeks (because there will always be a bigger geek out there). -This has been PollMaster inviting you to the geekside. MABUHAY CBM and Godspeed!
