This is the one Hellboy adventure that I've felt coming for a long time. Ever since it was announced that famed Mexican movie director Guerillmo Del Torro was being taped to make the Hellboy movies I've felt that there was no way that Hellboy himself could escape a heavy Mexican influence himself, especially after reading how well Mignola and Del Torro got along. Well, it has taken longer than I expected, but the inevitable has finally come to fruition: Hellboy is going south of the border.

In the newest one shot, due to hit shelves just in time for Cinco de Mayo, we are privy to one of Hellbo's earliest, and hitherto unknown, adventures. Set in the 1950's, just a scant few years after his "birth" in 1944, we find Hellboy galavanting around Mexico with a trio of vampire-killing luchadores. while with them he apparently faces the undead; evil turkeys; a terrible bat god; and a little too much tequila.

This new one shot reunites frequent collaborators writer Mike Mignola and artist Richard Corben, the creative team behind the last one shot The Bride of Hell and the Eisner Award-winning miniseries Hellboy: The Crooked Man! So you know it has to be good.

But wait there's more! Act now and not only will you get a drunken Hellboy fighting evil turkeys, and legendary comic stars Mike Mignola and Richard Corben but you'll also get a limited edition variant cover ,in Spanish, by Mike Mignola! What a bargain!

I ask you, what is the point of doing that? There is no reason for it, it's not like we list post counts here so it's not like you're getting anything by leaving a one word response.

Here's a big CBM no-prize for you Schooner.

@Kevin: Take it easy on Schooner. Everyone gets a little excited on their first "first!" post. Let him feel proud of owning the first comment to this post. If you're upset cause he posted something non-post related then take a look in the mirror. You're comment also has NOTHING to do with the post. Who made you the judge and jury of the comments anyway?

Yeah, Kevin has to shut up.... I can't hear Keven take a fister to task over Kevin's whining! ;p

It's just Keven's sense of humor jusme, you get to enjoy it after a while. It's an acquired taste.

Where you been lately Keven? haven't seen you comment in a long while.

Since it's still going there having to stretch the timebetween highhschool and adult superman. In order to keep it fresh they have to introduce people (jla) way before the mythos introduces them. I think from a creative standpoint they simply didn't think this far ahead.
