Inhumans in the MCU?

Inhumans in the MCU?

Have the Inhumans already been hinted at in the MCU? Will Marvel Studios even go the Inhumans route and how can they introduce them easily and effectively?

While watching Iron Man 3 with my family on Boxing day something that I didn't pay that much attention to during my other viewings caught my sights. When Killian is describing Extremis to Pepper he shows her that in the Human brain there is an empty slot. The slot can be utilized to rewrite the genetic code of a human being. To put it in Killians words "we were destined to be upgraded". Now here comes the juicy part. The Celestials (which may or may not exist in the MCU) basically endowed humanity with the ability to gain superhuman abilities whether it be from exposure to radiation of from the creation of a splinter species like Mutants and Inhumans. Now the Inhumans were created due to the Kree (who we know exist in the MCU) meddling with early Humans DNA and mutating them into a different species called Inhumans. The only reason they did this is because the genetic potential that the Celestials invested in the Humans had caught their eyes as they could be easily mutated and turned into super soldiers for the Kree. Now to recap. Killian states that human beings have an empty slot in their brains which can be accessed to rewrite genetic code and mutate human beings i.e see Extremis and Centipede. In the comics the Celestials gifted human beings with the genetic potential to be easily influenced by change and mutate from all sorts of stimuli like radiation or the Super Soldier Serum. Millions of years ago the Kree experimented on humanity due to their genetic potential spawning the Inhumans.

Now lets talk about the current MCU. In Agents of Shield Coulsons team has already encountered a man with Pyrokinetic abilities which they theories he could have developed due to a nuclear meltdown of a near by power station. And we know that Blizzard, specifically the second will appear in the 12th episode of AoS 'Seeds'. Now this is only a theory but I think that Scorch and Blizzard are both Inhumans. Now I'm not jumping to conclusions because in the comics currently Blizzard has been revealed to be an Inhuman and Scorch's comic book counterpart Tommy Ng is a mutant. Now we all know that a common theory is that Marvel Studios are going to use Inhumans to get past the whole Mutant debacle and the perfect way to do this I think is to introduce them in AoS. The Centipede storyline seems to be coming to a close and I think it would be great if the new storyline is dealing with the emergence of Inhumans and stopping people from using them for their own personal gain. In the episode Blizzard is showing up Ian Quinn from the Asset is also appearing. Now we know he's at odds with SHIELD and believes in freedom while he thinks SHIELD restricts it as they have power over everyone. Maybe hes trying to amass an army of superpowered individuals to take on SHIELD?

Any way that's a bit of topic. So essentially if the Inhumans are introduced in Agents of Shield then it wouldn't be as difficult to just have Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch show up in Age of Ultron. Then you can jump start an Inhumans movie in Phase 3 having Quciksliver and SW appear init so they don't just disappear from the MCU until Avengers 3. Any way what do you guys think?

What about the Terrigan Mists that give Inhumans their abilities?
Has that been dropped from comics & will the MCU ignore it altogether?

I used to like the idea of QS and SW being Inhumans, but I like the idea of them being von Strucker's twins instead. A lot more like the comics without the, y'know, Ian McKellen :P

I was actually thinking that the power infinity stone should be a crystal that at the right temperature turns into vapor and becomes the terrigen mist. For those that think that Aether is the Power stone remember that in the comics Collector was in possesion of the reality gem not the power gem, and the whole thing with him transforming the world back to Darkness was his wish so it fits right with the power of the reality gem.

Yeah I like the idea but as AOS is currently in a rut of viewership I don't think that anything 'important' should be introduced there.

I do want The Inhumans in the MCU though and with Ronan (and therefore the Kree) in GOTG it is a distinct possibility.

Also, with the denouement that the infinity stones are not simply gems but items of extreme power (Tesseract, Aether etc.) couldn't the Terrigan Mysts be the fallout from one of these items. Then we get yet another stone in play.

@crashrendar Ronan the Accuser is in Guardians of the Galaxy .

@WorstUserNameEver I think it would be cool if the Terrigan Crystal was the Power stone and it gives a different ability to each person who is exposed to its mist.

@AstonishingArachnid @WorstUserNameEver Good to know that I'm not the only one that thinks so. It just makes sense. What do you guys think of Hela being in possession of the Soul gem. Instead of controlling sous it could like control life so that it either steals life force or brings people back from the dead. It not only explains Hel but it's also a great introduction to the stone. Later on Adam Warlock or Doctor Strange could still get it from Her.

i think a Inhumanity event will happen in the movies to fully bring them in. Have a movie or appearance of Black Bolt and his crew, then do Inhumanity to go full force with ppl (looking normal and not normal) having some sort of power.

You know in the comics Quicksilver marries the Inhuman Crystal. They have a baby. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch actually spend more time in the comics with the Inhumans and the Avengers than they do with the Mutants. So to change them into Inhumans in the MCU means they could bridge the gap between the two movies if they do a Inhumans movie. That would possibly explain why Whedon wanted them so badly. You could actually get a lot of Quicksilvers story into the films that way. His relationship with Crystal could carry over and really connect the two films.

Right, I've held this view for a while and even wrote an editorial on the matter.

So, naturally, I can agree with what you're putting forward because I've already written about it, with the same thought process as you, with the Celestials, Kree and everything but I factored in the Eternals and how their cross breeding with regular humans made it possible for people to be born with abilities (Scorch).

The Inhumans can be made the normal way, really.

Nice write up.

I think this could happen - especially as they need to explain Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch for Avengers2.
