Michael Bay Melts Down Onstage When Teleprompter Malfunctions

Transformers: Age Of Extinction director Michael Bay short-circuited on-stage at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas today.

Bay was present to help promote Samsung’s new 150 inch curved televisions.

When Bay took the stage to give his spiel, the teleprompter malfunctioned. “The type is all off, sorry, but I’ll just wing this,” Bay said as he tried to recover. “We’ll wing it right now.”

After a Samsung exec tried to encourage some ad-lib conversation, Bay gave up in a huff and promptly exited the stage.

The only thing that could have made it better would have been...

...explosions.

Nothing wrong with this. Social anxiety is a bitch.
Shaky hands, quivering voice, erratic rhythm in your heart. Ugh, I know this all too well.

To me,a meltdown is someone who loses there temper and is screaming or swearing in a fit of rage.He simply F-up and quietly walked off the stage.Sh*t happens,we all F-up from time to time,no big deal!Life goes on.

Someone needs to edit a explosion when he walks off stage.

It's easy to sit there and tell him to man up and deal with it.

But until you've walked a mile in the shoes of someone who suffers with anxiety, you can't possibly know how much an instance like this sucks, and how much of a burden it can become. It sucks bad. You don't want to be going through it. But you literally can't help it. You just need to get away. Some days are worse than others. But to say that someone should just "man up" is both insulting, and asinine.

He never was like that! I know it's Bay but he was very much in control of himself before. Look at all press conferences he made with much more people.

Maybe something bad happened of stage. If hat is true it is bad to laugh at it.

@driver--

Doesn't matter. Like I said, some days are worse than others. Anxiety can be triggered by anything. There've been times where I can talk to a room of 300 people while holding a microphone and be ok. And on the other side of the coin, there've been times where I can't even talk to a cashier at the supermarket, and have to walk out of the store. There is no set pattern, and people need to quit thinking that way.

@Luminus--

Thanks, man. Just pisses me off to see some dickwad call the guy a pussy, and tell him to man up. Having anxiety doesn't make you a pussy. Sit there thinking you're having a heart attack for a half an hour or longer, and then tolerate someone telling you that you're a pussy. Watch how quickly you get made out to be the actual puss.

Poor Michael Bay. Maybe it's a sign that he should give up directing the Transformer's films.

Not really CBM related but you guys are pretty jerkish for giving the dude a hard time. Kudos to another craptacular thread!
