Stan "The Man" Lee is going to be accepting yet another prestigious award this time for his contributions in visual effects of all things. He will be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award on February 7th, at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Stan Lee said this about getting this award:
"As a writer there is nothing more rewarding than to see your creations brought to life on the screen and I am indebted to all of the incredibly talented artists who have contributed to my projects.

VES Chairman Jeffrey A. Okun said this in a recent statement:

"Stan Lee's imagination has created a completely original and profitable niche in the entertainment world and has allowed visual effects to flex its muscle in service to it!" "Thanks to Mr. Lee's fantastic creations and amazing stories he not only created a future filled with gadgets and inventions that we aspire to create for real -- but all while inspiring the minds and imaginations of storytellers, visual effects artists and computer wizards everywhere."

Stan Lee is following some of the other men who have been granted this award including:

George Lucas

Robert Zemeckis

Steven Speilberg

James Cameron and

Ray Harryhausen

It is great that the creator of some of the best heroes in existence is getting this award, but if you read what I just said it is pretty obvious he should have gotten it before-hand. Either way, congrats Stan Lee!
