Top 10 Superheroes With A Day Job

Top 10 Superheroes With A Day Job

Saving the world is good and fine, but it is not going to pay the bills! Eventually, most superheroes have to get a day job, whether they need the money or need to keep their secret identity intact. That is unless they're already a billionaire! Here is our a list of the 'hardest working' superheroes in the biz.

Source: Superhero Day Jobs

1. Spider-Man/Peter Parker

After running out of options on ways to afford his rent, he became a newspaper photographer. While taking pictures of himself and other Super Heroes and Super Villains, isnít the hardest work, Peter probably has the toughest boss in all of comics: J. Jonah Jameson.

2. Superman/Clark Kent

Clark doesnít need to work to pay for his lovely Ice Mansion, yet he plugs away each day at the Daily Bugle as a journalist. This gives him access to the news as it is happening and more importantly, Louis Lane.

3. Thor/Sigurd Jarlson

Thor with the help of S.H.I.E.L.D. created his identity as Sigurd Jarlson, a blue collar, work with your bare hands construction worker.

4. The Flash/Barry Allen

Barry is a forensic scientist for the police. Talk about a cool day job, and it gets better; a lab accident at his job is what gives him his super powers.

5.Moon Knight/Marc Spector/Jake Lockley

With Moon Knightís fortune he was able to support his crime-fighting career and build multiple personas. One of the personas was Jake Lockley, a cab driver able to gather information and develop informants while navigating the busy streets.

6. Nite Owl/Hollis T. Mason

The original ìNite Owlî had two day jobs. His first day job was as a NYPD officer and when he retired from that he became an auto repair mechanic.

7. Optimus Prime

There's nothing more blue collar than being a trucker. Optimus is a big rig, hauling heavy firepower through the streets, always ready and on guard for Decepticons.

8. Ant-Man/Eric O'Grady

Eric created a cover identity "Slaying Mantis" to hide from S.H.I.E.L.D. and while under that identity worked for Damage Control, a post-battle clean up company.

9. Steel/John Henry Irons

John although a brilliant weapons engineer, hid by becoming a steel construction worker up high on skyscrapers. It was while being a steel worker that Superman was killed which led to John creating an armor suit and flight boots and wearing a cape to become ìSteel.

10. Silver Surfer

Lastly, while the Silver Surfer may not have his day job on this earth, he may have the loneliest job of all. He has to roam the cosmos by himself looking for planets to acquire for his boss to consume. It is a never ending job with very little praise and a suggestion box full of complaints.

These are just our favorites; there are many others super heroes with day jobs. An argument might even be made that Tony Stark/Iron man has a day job building his suits of armor and doing all his other Tony Stark things.

So when you are going about your day, pay attention there might be a superhero working beside you, or maybe you might be lucky enough to have a 'Day Job' where you can wear some of our super work shirts. They are perfect for auto mechanics to construction workers to transforming robots ,eh, maybe not robots, but they are very cool. You can check them out at http://www.superherostuff.com/work-shirts.html

Technically, she deserved it. It is a no-tolerance deal. Big G's got advertisers to please. Hopefully she emails Big G and pleads her case and he lets her back. She was one of the good ones.

Not to criticize (because you've put together a fun posting), but when did it become okay, when putting together a Top Ten list or a Top 25, 50, or 100 list, when was it decided that STARTING the list with number one was okay? TV Guide does this now, also.
I remember Wizard (the comic book magazine) used to publish hundreds of these exact kind of lists. And they would start with who, or what, was last and work up to (in this case down to) the winning number one spot.

okay . . . I'm officially cranky.
Time for my nap.

Louis Lane? I'm fine with homosexuality in the heroes, but the New 52 reboot I'd more extreme than I ever imagined. On the plus side, and Nite Owl (iNite Owl)being a subsidy of Apple, never saw that merger.
