Young Actor's case for a chance at portraying a hero in a feature film

Young Actor's case for a chance at portraying a hero in a feature film

My name is Sean Gestl and I am an aspiring actor living in Salina Kansas. I have spent all 4 years of high school studying acting and plan to major in performance acting in college this fall. I have been a comic buff all my life and it has long been my dream to portray a comic book character on the big screen.

Sadly this dream seems to be getting smaller with every comic book adaptation released. I have gathered a group of characters that I believe my body type and acting ability would apply to almost perfectly.

First up, Richard Rider, aka Nova. Rider is a wimpy scrawny kid living in New York, he is a constant do gooder and one day while in highschool, is zapped to space to join the Nova Corp and fight in an intergalatic war. I too have somewhat scrawny build and am a teen. I have played a constant do good and underdog many times on stage. I have been a fan of the character for a long time and am really captavated by the idea of anyone being able to make a differnce.

Next, keeping with the space theme is the most recent GL from Earth, Kyle rayner. I have a very rich background in comedic acting and would be able to incorprate the character's funnier side, along with the intense situations.

Sam Guthrie, the mutant known as Cannonball is one of my favorite up and coming x-men. He like me doesn't have a overpowing build but his mutation, being able to propel himself with a great destructive force field makes him one of the most dangerous mutants in the world. He like Rayner and Nova has a sense of humor even in life threatening situations, but still buckles down to get the job done.

I know that this next character was in X3 but I believe that he deserves a bigger part and a character more true to the comic books. Jamie Madrox, or Multiple Man is a mutant with the ability to mulitply himself. Madrox also has a unique sense of humor and lean build. But he is also team leader of X-factor. along with serious and comedic acting I have also played characters of authority and i believe that I would be able to combine these elements to bring the true character of Jamie Madrox to life.

Wiccan of the Young Avengers,is the team magician. He is one of the few characters in the comic world to also be homosexual. Unlike the other characters I have named, Wiccan is more business like in his aproach to crime fighting. I find the character to be very interesting and captivating. He is a teen of slender build, who sometimes has trouble dealing with his identity. I would love to have the opertunity to portray such a character.

Now this next character was made exclusivly for the early 90s X-men cartoon. Morph was a character that was suposedly killed in the first story line of the series but later returned. I know that he is a minor character, but his build, character traits, and personality interests me. Again I am not asking for a starring role, just to be involved with a comic book movie. the character of Morph would be a great minor character in a future X movie.

Thanx to comicbookmovie.com for the oppertunity to put myself out there. I respect all the people who find the latest news in the comic world and keep this site going. You guys rock!
p.s if no one can see me being any of those characters...why not Jimmy Olsen?

You need to team up with Shaman dude. That man has the best casting ideas and a common aspiration to place his talents to use for Hollywood.

Good luck man. I wish you all the best. :)
