We all have expectation, but lets be honest, violence galore story nowhere to be seen. Story is always important even in a Punisher movie, if it is to be successful. I thought the movie would blow. Being a Marvel fan I still had to see it. Action did not disappoint, it is a sick pleasure to watch heads being blown up but I am not ashamed of it. The story was better then expected, it did not completely suck. It got to the point, it tried to humanize him (cuz you have to), and it rationalized how some one like Punisher could exist in the real world.
The comic book cliches, like calling himself Jigsaw or Punisher walking away in in one piece, are blatant and that annoyed me. Many supporting characters sucked and I wanted them off the screen.
The best part of this movie was the casting. Stevenson pulls of a good Punisher, its not classic Punisher but the newer more grittier Frank Castle. Jigsaw and his Brother, especially the brother, creep you out and aren't the badass supervillain of comics (one on one against Punisher not a good idea). They create obstacles suited for a vigilante.
I thought the movie was better then expected, so I'll give it C, mostly because of the action.
