ETERNALS Star Barry Keoghan Prompts Speculation That He's Been Cast As Feyd In DUNE: PART TWO

Dune: Part Two was officially given the greenlight last night, and Eternals star Barry Keoghan sent out a Tweet immediately after, which has led to speculation that he's joined the cast as Feyd-Rautha.

We really don't have a whole lot to go on here, but speculation is mounting that Barry Keoghan may have joined the cast of Dune: Part Two after the Eternals actor sent out a cryptic Tweet following last night's announcement that the sequel has been officially greenlit.

Keoghan, who plays Druig in the Marvel Studios movie due out next week, Tweeted out a pair of emojis almost immediately after the news went public, and many fans are now convinced that he's signed on to play the key role of Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen.

You might think this is a bit of a stretch (to say the least), but Warner Bros. and director Denis Villeneuve have most likely been thinking about casting this character for a long time, and could, conceivably, have added Keoghan to the ensemble without announcing the news. The Irish actor has also been spotted out and about with Dune star Timothée Chalamet on several occasions.

In Frank Herbert's novel, Feyd is the younger nephew of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, and is almost as cruel and cunning as his grotesque uncle. Many fans were surprised that the character didn't appear in Part One, but he will almost certainly play a prominent role as a principal antagonist in the sequel. Sting played Feyd in David Lynch's '80s adaptation.

What do you guys think? Are people reading too much into this? Drop us a comment down below.

Dune was good, but it had no third act. A lot of people going into this may not know it’s an incomplete movie. LotR had a subtitle and previous acknowledged it was 1 of 3 (even if you weren’t aware of the books), but even then it had a complete third act that made that movie satisfying in and of itself. This might as well have said “to be continued” at the end, but Back to the Future had that and still had a satisfying third act.

Beyond that though, I enjoyed it. Just felt a little deceived.

Weird how these characters and locations all have these exotic nomenclatures and then the main character's name is some basic shit like Paul.

Saw this last night…

At the risk of sounding circle jerky as [frick]. That was one of the best cinema experiences I’ve ever had. Seats were vibrating from the sound. Holy [frick].

I loved it.
