Last week, reports hit the Internet saying Disney was adding Star Wars Land to their Hollywood Studios theme park in Orlando. Some details were made available but ComicBookMovie.com's The Daily SuperHero can now confirm what is really expected to change at the park. Now that these new details have been provided, don't get too excited as the changes are definitely not as cool as expected.

According to an amusement park source who is very knowledgable of the inner workings of the world's largest entertainment company, the following two changes are happening at the Orlando park that are Star Wars-related.

–A indoor Jedi Training Academy will be at the ABC Sound Studio.

–The Backlot Express is being converted into a Star Wars-themed ride aimed for younger children who don't make the height requirement on the Star Tours ride. (Got give the kiddies something too, right?)

And that's it for Star Wars changes/additions. Nowhere close to what one would expect. Also, in order to completely clear the air of all the false rumors online, the source said the following changes are also occurring at the park.

–The Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular will remain until they have a reason to replace it as the brand still makes them money especially if another film is on the horizon.

–Cars Land is coming and it will take up the entirety of the Backlot Tour and Lights, Motor, Action stunt show as its nearly the same square footage of the Cars Land in California.

–The Muppets 3D attraction will remain as long as Disney makes Muppet movies.

–The Honey I Shrunk the Kids park was originally supposed to be converted into A Bugs Life area years ago and will most likely be slowly dissolved to make room for character meeting areas.

Quick note: notice that rumor of a Mos Eisley cantina coming to the park is not listed. This doesn't mean it's debunked but it does mean to not get your hopes up that it's actually happening.

In closing, the source told The Daily SuperHero that the Imagineers are constantly working to improve the theme park experience for fans and further changes can, and will, happen at the drop of a hat. As of right now, the officially plans are the ones listed above.

NOOOOOOooooo!!!! Why the hell would they change the backlot tour (one of MGMs most well known and iconic attractions) and replace it with another damn cars land (on of the worst pixar franchises made... Not to mention that movie has a hotel with a large radiator springs themed area as well..... also the biggest attraction in cars land is prettymuch the same thing as test track in epcot). Why doesn't the incredibles or UP get anything??

What the Hell Are They Thinking?!?!?!

my ideas for Star Wars Land at Disney:

1. A giant rancor that grabs fat obese kids and eats them, but they just go down a slide in his mouth that comes out under his tail like poo.

2. A brother and sister kissing booth. Basically two kids that are brother and sister can make out an kiss. Hey don't judge me, it's in SW so eff it!

3. In SW land, only one black kid is allowed inside per day.

4. All midgets that enter SW Land are required to sit inside droids or wear an Ewok outfit and waddle around yelling "Yub-Yub! Yub-Yub!"

5. When exploring the Empire's sets, if you are given an order an you disobey then you are choked out or you get shot with a taser (simulating the Emperor electrocuting you).

6. Anyone walking around in SW that looks like a idiot or a 'tard then they are automatically a Gungan and given the name Jar-Jar jr.

The Backlor Tour is but a shell of what it was when the park opened in 1989. Better to shutter it and build more attractions than to continue pretending there are working studios and sets at the park.

^ Last time I checked, all of the theming is pretend, the mountains are man made and they are not actually filming the indiana jones movies during the stunt show.

The park is losing its uniqueness as a place based on movie making. Its slowly just becoming some generic park with no specific theme. If they are going to replace the backlot tour/ catastrophe canyon, it should at least be something that better fits the theme and not an entire section for pixar's worst films

I agree. The whole "we're a studio" idea stopped beig cool right after they stopped actually being a studio. Instead of capitalizing on unique approaches at making movie themed attractions it's been dumbed down. There's still hope though and this source is reliable because my friends who work at DHS told me the same things. Did not know however about Star Wars kiddie ride but probably because they worked at Backlot and didn't know.

Cars sucks. Worst Pixar movie.

@SnapperCarr - I agree, but try telling that to the kiddies...(mine included, although they've grown out of that stage now thank God!)

Disney will forever Force-choke SW to get their money back. But that's a good thing right?

How about a Millennium Falcon you can actually walk around in and take pictures in. Also, do the same thing with the X-wings, there's so much they could do with this. The Lars Homestead, ROTJ speederbikes in the forrest, Jabba's Palace, Hoth base, etc. All kinds of star wars themed rides.
