There's only a month to go until
Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theatres, officially releasing on May 25th, yet we're hard-pressed when it comes to information about the spinoff.
Last month it was revealed that the film's villain, or at least one of them, will be named: Enfys Nest. A description of a toy featuring the villain confirming that Enfys' gang is the Cloud-Riders. If that name sounds familiar to you its because the
Cloud Riders was also the name of a gang in, the now non-canon,
Star Wars Legends. The description of the toy, which confirmed this information, reads:
The Cloud-Rider gang led by Enfys Nest terrorizes the skies atop the mean-looking swoop bikes. Little more than engines with seats, swoops are hard to control but capable of incredible speed.
Now that you're up to speed; More intriguing information was recently revealed about enigmatic villain, Enfys Nest.
The masked scoundrel has been rumored to either be a bounty hunter or a rival smuggler. We don't know much about her, other than her name and what we can grasp from the brief glimpses of her in the trailer. And no, you're not misreading those pronouns; A new report, backed up by promo material, reveals that character will actually be played by a woman, making Enfys Nest one of the Star Wars franchise's first live-action female villains.
Enfys Nest, an extremely dangerous marauder, has quickly forged an infamous reputation for herself and her gang of pirates – the Cloud Riders.
The information comes from French promotional material for the movie. Check out the original text here.
This reveal also comes from a tip posted by Star Wars News Net, in which their source suggests the character's future involvement in the franchise, perhaps in Solo: A Star Wars Story sequels. The report states:
Enfys Nest is a female. It is not a big role, but it is important. She (the actress) worked closely with Woody Harrelson. She is signed for two more movies, presumably Solo sequels.
The same post also suggests Nest will not be the main antagonist of the movie, but will play a major role in the film's first act similar to that of Jabba the Hutt in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Hopefully we find out more when that next trailer finally releases as we get closer to the film's debut at Cannes.
What do you think about this intiguing new information on Enfys Nest and her gang of scoundrels? Any ideas as to who could be playing the mysterious character? Who do you think the film's primary antagonist will be?
