TERMINATOR: DARK FATE - 8 Major New Reveals From Comic-Con Including Arnie's New Name And The Movie's Rating

There hasn't really been a huge amount of positive buzz about the sixth Terminator movie up until now, but some huge new details revealed during last night's Comic-Con panel might help change that...

After three pretty terrible Terminator movies, it's fair to say that a lot of fans aren't exactly counting down the days until Terminator: Dark Fate is released. There's certainly a lot about the movie that looks great and it's seemingly in safe hands with Deadpool director Tim Miller, but can it escape the failings of previous instalments and put things back on track?

Well, there was a panel devoted to the movie at Comic-Con yesterday evening and a lot of very exciting information has come to light which could help get you really psyched for this one.

From returning characters to details on Terminator: Dark Fate's rating and the T-800's new name, there's a lot here to discuss, and we even have a lengthy description of the trailer that was shown to fans. Unfortunately, that hasn't been released online yet but should debut in the coming weeks.

To check out these new details about the movie, all you have to to is hit the "View List" button!

It Won't Feature Avengers: Endgame-Style Time-Travel

"The time-travel, for me, I loved Endgame I think it's fantastic. However, I feel like time-travel with multiple realities loses some stakes," director Tim Miller said regarding how this sci-fi adventure differs to the superhero ensemble after it brought time-travel back to theaters in a big way.

"If you can change time and it can be anything. I feel like you lose a little bit of the dramatic stakes. So, in the Terminator universe, there is only one timeline. If you change something in the past, it rolls forward and changes something in the future." He added that idea ties back into the first two films and noted that this one will deal with "the consequences of destroying Cyberdine."

This movie looks terrible. I bet it ends up being *slightly* better than Genisys.

Off-Topic: Anyone else see this? What a terrible way to go.

RIP

Not too worried if this is good or not. It will be rebooted in another 3 to 5 years.

I still don't understand how the T800 is alive since he destroyed himself at the end of T2...

@BraxtonHicks - could just be a different t800 sent back to help the resistance. But since the resistance won, he had nothing to do. No mission. So he assimilated

@BraxtonHicks - Its another T800 that was sent back at the same time as the one from T2. They learn multiple were sent back in 92 to different locations. Thus Sarah saying she just hunts terminators now

@BraxtonHicks - After skynet went down Carl had no mission left. So he was left wandering

@knocturnalzen10 - this show had a lot more story to tell. I love the modern Beyond comics too and they can certainly pull from those

@BlackBeltJones - i read a lot of the comics as well , but as you get older you don't realize how dark the cartoon run truly was ..... i like and enjoyed terry more because you felt even tho they did the DNA thing he still had a choice and at the end he's one of the only ones who could live a happy life .

I liked how Terry would just straight up murder people. Not even as a last resort. He just did it.

@Reeds2Much - yea Terry made business decisions early when needed

@Reeds2Much - Haha they did make a point of making sure he was definitely not like Bruce. Didn’t he kick Joker in the groin in ROTJ? Haha
“What are you doing?”

I don't know when's the last terminator movie I've actually watched. I think I like reading about them more than actually watching them

I'd wager this ends up being pretty decent. If its budget is over-inflated I doubt it makes much bank though.

Are you saying let’s nix R-rated movies or R-rated franchises? I’m not following.

How many times is the model 101 going to be sent back? It’s supposed to be blend in with humanity but they sent the same one back multiple times? Even if it was sent somewhere else entirely, you think they would use a different model. There last gotta be at least 100 more to choose from.
Timerider84
Timerider84 - 7/19/2019, 9:35 AM
@Stinkor1 - the only movies that count in this timeline is T1 and T2, and now this one. There's only been two T800 model 101 Terminators sent back. All other films don't count.
hurleychris07
hurleychris07 - 7/19/2019, 9:54 AM
@Stinkor1 - The T800 from T2 was one ONE of a few sent back at the same time. Thats what they are going with. Thats where Carl came from
Stinkor1
Stinkor1 - 7/19/2019, 11:34 AM
@hurleychris07 - that’s my point. Why send multiple of the SAME model back. Why not send a couple different models?
Stinkor1
Stinkor1 - 7/19/2019, 11:38 AM
@Timerider84 - I know the other movies don’t count. (Which is a stupid and lazy gimmick.) But Skynet sent a 101 model to 1984. Then another 101 was sent to 1991. But this Carl was ALSO sent back at some point. That’s a lotta live for the 101 model. They could have sent a 48 model. Or a 72. Or god willing a 69....

They really needed to just make Arnie the man the t-800 was based on and done a Logan style film about him struggling in a world where he’s hated everywhere. Instead we’re gonna get more of the same old ‘look it’s a fancy new terminator’ but the same plot of running away and/or trying to destroy skynet.

Also Edward Furlong is like... a mess isn’t he? Every photo of him he looks terrible. Don’t see how he’ll be able to pull off ‘saviour of humanity’ even if he does just get killed off early on
