Neill Blomkamp Says PROMETHEUS 2 Changed The Story Of ALIEN 5
The District 9 director discused his plans for the new Alien film. He also reveals that he had to make some changes to his story to avoid stepping on the toes of Ridley Scott's upcoming Prometheus 2.
Chappie director Neill Blomkamp is currently lined up to direct a new Alien, and while he has already suggested he’s disregarding Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection, it seems he won't be doing the same for for Ridley Scott's Prometheus series. "I changed the one thing [Scott] felt was bumping Prometheus a little bit. One thing that makes me feel good about it is that Ridley is producing it. He likes the idea of what I want to make." The Chappie director then reveals that he sent the title to Ridley Scott and says "It's kinda quite bold, but it gives away too much if I say the title. But in the event that it doesn't work, I'm dead in the water."
Along with this reveal Blomkamp also reiterates his disappointment in Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection saying, "Where it went after 'Aliens' to me, as a fan, was wrong. There’s a shitload missing as a fan that I would want to see."
