Yesterday we found out that Neill Blomkamp's (Chappie) Alien movie could actually become a reality, and now we hear from Ripley Herself, Sigourney Weaver. It sounds like she might be game... if it happens!

Could we really see Ripley return for another Alien film? Last year it was only wishful thinking, but that was before District 9 director Neill Blomkamp posted some very interesting concept art online, and then revealed that he is actively hoping to develop a movie based around it. Blomkamp insists that Fox are all for it, but he still hasn't decided if he's 100% about moving forward. Well, getting Sigourney Weaver back on board is definitely a step in the right direction. Coming Soon asked Weaver, who recently worked with the director on Chappie, how this all came about, and if she feels there's more to explore with the iconic character.

"He kept sending me these brilliant designs and ideas and everything. We’ll see what happens. We just left it at such a creepy place, sort of stranded above Earth. I was quite happy to move onto other things and I didn’t want to go to Earth. I didn’t want to manufacture a sequel and I felt like we were starting to do that. If something happens from this, it would be very organic and very original, and because of that, it would make me want to do it. If it was someone as talented as Neill, I’d certainly listen."

Even if they all agree to get working on this, it'll still be years before we actually see the movie -- but I'm happy to wait! What about you guys?

I want this movie! You know Blomkamp has to be passionate about it because he said he had to many ideas to work on non-original works. Well he said something to that effect ha.

She's basically the queen of nerd-dom, right? Is there anyone bigger? I don't think anyone's ready to give it to Zoe Saldana yet.
OpticBlastWins - 2/11/2015, 4:28 PM
Mrs. Weaver you know you want to wear that crazy ass hybrid jockey suit thing. You have my 20 bucks
MarkyMarkRises - 2/11/2015, 4:37 PM
I know Ridley Scott has said that 3 is not canon, or something like that, so I'm curious which Alien story it will relate to.
MarkyMarkRises - 2/11/2015, 4:37 PM

[frick]ing cock tease, what is it?
TheRationalNerd - 2/11/2015, 4:42 PM
I think a soft reboot involving her character would be pretty sweet. Hopefully avatar doesn't hold her back.
Bomki - 2/11/2015, 5:27 PM
Do it! Oh, and make Summer Glau her daughter when you're at it or a younger version of Ripley, they look so alike...
MightyZeus - 2/11/2015, 6:41 PM
This has to happen.

Just make it happen.
Macksimus - 2/11/2015, 6:51 PM
NO MORE SIGOURNEY WEAVER!!! Let it go; let Hicks go. It's over. Introduce new characters and stories. Quit trying to bring back the "glory days."
Billium3 - 2/11/2015, 7:23 PM
I would definitely be all in for an Alien(s) 5.
TheRealIntruder - 2/11/2015, 8:33 PM
Man. I'm not sure. For some reason.. after Prometheus... I just only want to remember the first two films.
TheRealIntruder - 2/11/2015, 8:35 PM
The feel of Alien is like a myth now. Its supposed to be sci-fi/horror

FOX has turned into action/adventure.
BlackIceJoe - 2/11/2015, 9:11 PM
This should happen. The universe of Alien is rich and I hope to see more of it, other then another Prometheus.
GetsugaTensho22 - 2/11/2015, 10:34 PM
Chappie looks Shit. Hugh Jackman finally playing an Aussie and Dev Patel are obviously great, but the rest looks like poop.
xcan - 2/11/2015, 10:50 PM
I want this to happen as I dig quasi-Canadian Blomkamp and Aliens 1 & 2, but for some reason I feel like it would regress his progress... aww fucck it, make it happen!
Tempo - 2/12/2015, 3:00 AM
@JediPhilosopher: I would love to see also Kurt Russell back for a sequel to the Thing,it will be awesome too,old school must back
breakUbatman - 2/12/2015, 4:14 AM

"Hugh Jackman finally playing an Aussie"

Remember that one flick called Australia. Just kidding..... but not really.

Is Bleach still on or good for that matter , I last caught it by Hueco Mundo arc
MarkyMarkRises - 2/12/2015, 7:23 AM

ran across this after comforting myself that the AvP movies weren't canon.
MarkyMarkRises - 2/12/2015, 7:25 AM

Maybe the sequel could have the thing somewhere in South America, destroying and invading villages.
