Sigourney Weaver On Neill Blomkamp's ALIEN Movie: "We'll See What Happens"
Yesterday we found out that Neill Blomkamp's (Chappie) Alien movie could actually become a reality, and now we hear from Ripley Herself, Sigourney Weaver. It sounds like she might be game... if it happens!
Could we really see Ripley return for another Alien film? Last year it was only wishful thinking, but that was before District 9 director Neill Blomkamp posted some very interesting concept art online, and then revealed that he is actively hoping to develop a movie based around it. Blomkamp insists that Fox are all for it, but he still hasn't decided if he's 100% about moving forward. Well, getting Sigourney Weaver back on board is definitely a step in the right direction. Coming Soon asked Weaver, who recently worked with the director on Chappie, how this all came about, and if she feels there's more to explore with the iconic character.
"He kept sending me these brilliant designs and ideas and everything. We’ll see what happens. We just left it at such a creepy place, sort of stranded above Earth. I was quite happy to move onto other things and I didn’t want to go to Earth. I didn’t want to manufacture a sequel and I felt like we were starting to do that. If something happens from this, it would be very organic and very original, and because of that, it would make me want to do it. If it was someone as talented as Neill, I’d certainly listen."
Even if they all agree to get working on this, it'll still be years before we actually see the movie -- but I'm happy to wait! What about you guys?
